    Vs Ukraine

Post by Guest on Tue Oct 06 2009, 05:26

The news link above is the BBC one but this story is all over the meeja. Seems the only way an Englishman can now follow his national team abroad is the expense and agravation of traveling or have a high speed broadband connection ! Now I see the need for a free and open market on sports events. (I have an idea that I will put into another tread along these lines). But this is England not a CL group game. A full World Cup Qualifying game. What if we hadn't have qualifed yet and our qualyifing depended on this game ? Ok Sentanta went bust and it would have been shown on there. I, for one, never signed up with Sentanta but if I wished to watch the game I could have gone to a pub that was showing it. I'm really not sure that internet only viewing is a fair & correct way to show a full England game. Does this mean that if a bidder comes in high enough we could end up watching the World Cup Final on pay-per- view websites ??? I hope not. As an aside, Ferdinands comments made me chuckle. Of course you like it Rio it means more revenue streams coming in to bulge your already over-filled pockets with more hard earned cash from football fans. As if Wavy Lips, or any of them, need any more money . . . . .

If everyone boycotts it, then its best way to snuff this out.
