Well,I must say I am getting dizzy, dont like hight's but I think I can cope with this, 3rd, absolutely brilliant. But, can we stay there?. Our remaining fixtures look tougher than those of Chelsea and the Arsenal. We have,
    Arsenal H, Liverpool A, Fulham H, Swansea A, Everton H, Chelsea A, Man City H, Wigan A, Southampton H, Stoke A, Sunderland H.

    Chelsea have,
    WBA H, Fulham A, West Ham H, Southampton A, Sunderland H, Spurs A, Liverpool A, Swansea H, Man U A, Aston Villa A, Everton H.

Arsenal I believe have the easier run in.
    Spurs A, Everton H, Swansea A, Reading H, WBA A, Norwich H, Fulham A, Man U H, QPR A, Wigan H, Newcastle A.

Looking at these fixtures, how many points do you think we and the other two will get from there remaining games, and what the top of the table will look like at the end of the season.

    Arsenal - Win
    Liverpool - Lose
    Fulham - Win
    Swansea - Draw
    Everton - Win
    Chelsea - Lose
    Man City - Draw
    Wigan - Win
    Soton - Win
    Stoke - Draw
    Sunderland - Win

6 wins out of the last 11, 3 draws, 2 lost = 21 points which could mean we'll finish on 72 points.

    Swansea win
    Everton draw
    Chelsea lose
    Man City lose
    Wigan win
    Southampton win
    Stoke win
    Sunderland win
Thats 21 points for us. I believe Arsenal will pick up 24, and Chelsea 26 points. Looks like to me a 4th place finish for us and a 5th place for the Arsenal with Chelsea 3rd. But hey, who knows,we could remain unbeaten for the rest of the season. What could put a spanner in the works is if, and it looks likely, Arsenal go out the Champions League, and we progress in the Europa Cup, players could find it a bit to much fighting for success on two front's. Would you prefer we blow the Europa Cup and finish 4th or third, or win the Europa Cup and loose out on a top four finish?

My worry is Lought is that should the Arsenal go out the Champions League then they will only have to concentrate on getting into the top four and will be fresher for their league games. Even AVB has said, tongue in cheek, we should cheer the Arsenal on in the Champions League as he knows they could buckle under the pressure of trying to get fourth and advance in the competition. It would not surprise me at all that Wenger puts out a weak squad in their return game, give up the ghost, as he knows they are nearly out the competition in order to put up a fight to get back into it next season with a few new signings. Us?, will it be to much for us, AVB wants the Europa Cup, but it could cost us a top four finish, this is why I ask, should we do the same and fight to get into the Champions League at the expense of the Europa Cup?. Don't get me wrong I would love to win it, but do I want us to win it at the expense of letting the goons finish above us in fourth place in the league. Say we get to the semis or final and loose and at the same time miss out on a top four finish, will it have been worth it. I would rather not be in it, get into the Champions League next season strengthen our squad, and make a serious attempt to win the Champions League. Having said all this, do the winners of the Europa Cup go into the Champions League next season?.

I have to admit I would take a night of one off glory in Amsterdam in the Europa as a strong platform to build upon and challenge for greater honours next season. That's just me and the romantic in me loving Spurs status as a cup team & a European team of note. I understand the modern need for top 4 and that being the Holy Grail(He's not the Messiah, he's a naughty boy) but the thought of a Cup final win and a night of European glory holds a huge siren song for me . . . . .

dont see why we cant do both. both manchester teams went for it last season.
plus we have a huge sqaud and can even afford to start some players on the bench because the ones that have been used as subs have done so well.

Personally I believe if you have a chance of winning something you should go for it, not wheigh up which is the best. Like vis I would love to make the final of the Europa and win it.
I think to do that you have to play your best squad and take a chance there are no serious injuries.

Lought I agree we have a big squad but not neccassarily a lot of class on the bench. Sometimes this season when things have not been going to well You look at the bench and think who there is going to change this game.

So if we are going to go for Europa glory then we have to play our best every game and pray, as the teams now are serious opposition.
