now go look at our form the first 10 games of the season.

    we was awfull.

anyway im right because. none of them can score so is bale to blame.

everytime ade won the ball there was nobody near him.

tbh i think both should go.

That Bale injury looks like it could be a break and if so his season is over and probably ours.

We were P*ss poor tonight and with him out we are going to drop a lot of points and possibly out of the top four.

There were a lot of bad players out there tonight. Adybyebye is a joke,Holtby doesn't know what to do with the ball when he gets it, Gallas has really lost it and should retire, Ekotto doesn't really give a sh*t and Naughton has real limitations under pressure. The rest tried and at times played reasonably well but you can't beat Everton, Chelsea and Man city, our next 3 games with half a team.

Our two best players over the season have been Bale and Lennon and it looks like they could be out for the remaining games.

I would like to win the Europa cup but I want a top 4 finish more because it means we have a chance of keeping our best players and bringing in other top players.

Lought WTF? When the hell does AdalookintheBentleyshowrommthisafternooncosIcanaffordanicenewone ever chase about? He strolls most games. He's a forward he's meant to receive the ball, keep it and bring the midfield forward. Most times the ball went to him he gave possession or a free-kick away. He scored. About time on his £80K+ a week. Should have at least caught Defoe & Bale by now as a striker in the goals scored table! Yup your right I can't read the game but I can spot a lazy, under achieving striker just fine . . .

AVB 2 completely the wrong team 3 days before a home match against a physical everton team to see if we can still make the champs league.

The lack of rotation meant that dembele, verts and bale were owned by players of a worse level and parker should have been able to hold his own against them but has proved he can not play 2 games a week now.

Tonight should have been a chance to see caulker, hudd, carroll and livermore. Whoever thought it was wise to loan out wingers townsend and falque can take a bow, bloody pratts.

So how come last season when we had our blip and lost our nailed on 3rd position and CL guarantee, Modric went missing, Dembele made several surges forward last night and had no-one in a decent psotion to pass to,
Modric would not have been the answer last night, not playing a central defender on his last last legs, that makes the goalkeeper and the rest of the back four look nervous and shaky was, put last night down to AVB.

omg is this the dembele who went on a run and could of put ade in for a one on one and like most of our players saw the glory. did you miss that.

so now its all on gallas that we lost.

dawson was just as bad when he came on and got away with 2 bad mistakes.

modric would of took the ball from the defenders.

we only had demebele doing that yesterday

ade first touch is abysmal he always loses it. then he thinks he should have got a foul against him but doesnt, but he just stays down moaning about it while he lets their player get the ball and create another marauding attack on us. well you might not have seen it lought but 30000 spurs in the stadium did and fuckin let him know. if thats working his a*se off, do me a favour.he is a lazy b*stard who has no passion for us and i hope he leaves as soon as possible.

they werent booing him , just telling him to get up and get on with it rather than sitting on his a*se with his arms out questioning the decision, meanwhile basel get the ball and attack us again. hes got the skill i agree but its not often he seems to want to apply himself in a spurs shirt now. there is no desire or passion with him. i dont get it.

Gallas is past it, only our manager dont see it, the boos only came after he made mistake after mistake and Modric would have only done what Dembele did, except Dembeles stronger.

what about modric and dembele insteat of parker.

like i said a hundred times before that season we got 4th and beat chelsea arsneal man c away was when ekott lennon and wp got injuird and we played modric and hudd in the middle.

modric can run with the ball and hudd can find our forward players.

we play a high line so no need for parker.

Just my penny's worth. Adebayor should go come
the Summer and Defoe can join him as far as I'm concerned. Adebayor is a
lazy f*cker who once he got a full contract decided he wouldn't try so
hard. Defoe is just not a prolific striker, 1 in 2? my god he isn't even
a 1 in 4 striker and he is far too greedy in front of goal. Lost count
the amount of times he could have squared the ball to a better placed
player. Parker? Was good the first season he came but has lost that
something now. When Sandro is fit Parker will and should be benched, he
runs round in circles too many times IMO and doesn't bring much to the
team. Gallas? Once again he was a good buy when we first got him but his
star is fading now and it is showing big time, Dawson can still do a
job at the moment but the future is Verts, Kaboul and Caulker in the CB
position. Ekotto? Has good games and bad games but it looks like AVB is
going to off load him which is why they have been watching Rose with a
view to bringing him back into the left back position. I think that is a
good move as Rose has been getting good reviews at Sunderland. I don't
believe there is an awful lot wrong with the core of the team. At the
beginning of the season we were all saying this was a transitionary
season for AVB and Tottenham. I said 5th or 6th would be good and
possibly a cup. We have made it hard for ourselves to win the Europa now
but hey, who knows. Top 4 hasn't gone yet but two dismal games against
Liverpool and Fulham have made it very difficult for us but it's still
in our hands. Didn't really give us much of a chance at Swansea but we
won it, JUST. We really need to win today, anything else and we will
probably be waving bye, bye to 4th but if we do just remember this was
always a transitionary season. Oh and Daniel. You must go and get 2 good
strikers for us in the Summer.

The trouble is Baz we say every season it's a transitionary season. When does it stop?

We had an opportunity in the summer to replace Modric and VDV and bring in a top striker or two but we didn't and we have probably missed the boat now to get quality players in.

The biggest problem is if no top 4 and Bale goes what happens then.

We have been a club in transition for 20 years and nothing changes.

Sure we buy every year but if we do find a star then you know that they will be sold eventually.

We don't seem to be a long term club more a selling club.

Tottenham will be without the injured trio of Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon and William Gallas as they aim to reach the Europa League semi-finals.

Spurs came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 in the first leg against Basel but Bale (ankle), Lennon (knee) and Gallas (calf) were all replaced.

Andre Villas-Boas believes striker Emmanuel Adebayor could be the key.

The Spurs boss said: "He has got back in the goals in our recent games and he has shown how influential he can be."

Adebayor scored in the first leg at White Hart Lane and was on target after just 33 seconds in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Everton.

"Finding the back of the net allows him to go into the game with more confidence and I always think it's self-belief from the player, rather than anything else, that helps them improve," added Villas-Boas.

"His link-up play has improved tremendously. He's been much more involved in the build of play and assisted and created so much, allowing others to flourish."

Assistant coach Steffen Freund thinks his team can cope without their injured trio.

"We're playing a strong team... but we are confident because we've played so well away all season," he said.

"If we perform how we know we can, we have a good chance of progressing to the semi-finals."

Tottenham have lost only once in the Europa League this season - a 4-1 defeat by Inter Milan in the round of 16 - but still advanced on away goals and they beat Lyon in the previous round thanks to Mousa Dembele's last-minute goal in France.

Freund added: "We've played 11 matches in this competition and we've been strong throughout. Okay, Inter Milan was difficult, but we managed to come back at Lyon in the last minute.

"Now it's the same against Basel. Maybe we can score in the last minute again! We certainly have the desire and determination to do it."

Basel, the only domestic champions among the eight quarter-finalists, will be playing their 18th European match of the season, a marathon which started against Flora in Estonia on 17 July.

Basel's 20-year-old Egyptian Mohamed Salah was the outstanding player in the first leg, let down only by his lack of ruthlessness in front of goal.

Coach Murat Yakin quipped: "If Mohamed could score as well, he would not be here any more, or he would not have come here in the first place."

not a bad first half by Spurs, good passing and pressing, just lacking creativity up front as usual. Silly goal to give away by Dembele and a silly free kick at the end of the first half. We just need to get that ball into the box as much as possible and stop passing it backwards, Basle seem to panic in their own box! We've just got to go for it, nothing to lose! They're not the same team we played at the lane, not as offensive and are sitting back.
