    Mario Gomez Empty Mario Gomez

Spurs are preparing to offer Bayern Munich £7m for striker Mario Gomez, 27, who now appears to be surplus to requirements at the German club.

The list of strikers being linked with a summer move to White Hart Lane is growing with each passing day with the Daily Express suggesting that Tottenham have now turned their attention towards Bologna forward Manolo Gabbiadini.

Gabbiadini is a 21 year old Italian youth international who will be on show at the Under 21 European Championships in Israel this month. Gabbiadini is yet to strike it rich in Serie A, and scored just 6 goals last season, making him more of a long term prospect for Spurs rather than an immediate solution to their striking woes. The youngster is currently co-owned by Juventus and Atalanta, and it is unlikely that the Old Lady of Turin will sell their share of the player cheaply when they are themselves short of quality striking options, and quite possibly see the player as one for the future.

The transfer window isn't open yet: 1st July 2013 lads. Even though the media have mentioned that the likes of Man City & Liverpool have signed players, its not official until the Window is actually open.

Saying that, I just hope that Spurs sign the players they need early in the Window and not last bloody minute like usual. Get the cheque book Mr Levy, time to splash some of that Champions League money + the sale of Modric.
