    The Ashes Empty The Ashes

Post by Guest Mon Jul 13 2009, 05:08

I've really not kept up with this test match. As I see it the Aussies have spanked us for 4+ days. But to have got a draw feels like a victory to me. This should knock the arrogence out of those smug Aussies. If Andrew Strauss is any kind of a Captain he will use this to turn what is, as I understand, a quite awful performance from England. Next match I hope he has them fired right up. No individual players, just Team England. Get'em off Welsh soil and back home to England and hopefully we will start playing some cricket. All I have seen of this test is today's last session of play so I'm sure my judgement is somewhat biased but hey ho - c'mon England . . . . . .

The first thing i'd do is bring in Harmison for the next test Thursday. He's got that bit of devil that we've missed this time out. Leave out Panesar as he's just not good enough. Swann should Be the spinner for his batting.

As for the rest the team should stay the same but the batsmen should be given a right telling off & tell them they're playing test cricket not Twenty/20 or one day so show more restraint.

    Leave out Panesar
To be fair Jim, it was a pretty flat wicket and he did get us out of the s**t at the end, showing the so called top order the art of when to block and when to hit the ball, Swann I dont think got any wickets, my guess is they will keep the same team and bring Hamrison in for Broad.

i think this onions bloke has a bit of bite about him, maybe he is the answer. but we need to kick on now and our big players need to perform. too many players getting out to bad shots. but a good game save by anderson and panesar, pmsl at the england physio coming on and no one was injured he just ran on and then ran off again looking a a bit sheepish and knowing he was caught at it by ponting.

England were accused of cheating weren't they. I don't know much about Cricket but how were we cheating?

Aussies accussed us of time wasting Baz, as towards the end of the game we sent on the 12th man twice and also the physio. Ponting would have done exactly the same if the posisitions were reversed. Hints that doing that was outside the spirit of the game. Choice words from a whinging Aussie captain whose bowlers couldn't claim the last wicket . . . . . . . lol!
