Bale on FA Charge ? - Page 5 Empty Re: Bale on FA Charge ?

Post by BazSpur Wed Mar 14 2012, 01:47

The tip of the iceberg started with a player bragging in the Daily
Telegraph about his success in using the black arts to get opposition
    players sent off.

"They can’t stop me, the only way they can is to foul me.’“I’ve got a few people sent off this year by doing that."

Sorry Nic but I can't see anywhere he said he dived on purpose. What he is saying is he get's them to foul him by running at them. Nothing wrong with that. In fact there is nowhere in that article that says he dives. It's easy to take words out of context.

As for the Stevenage penalty how was it it Bale was in "agony" when he kicked the Stevenage player Roberts before hitting the deck ?

Just comparing him to kos-shell-knee for overacting an injury, the fact on this occaisson was that Bale did accidentally kick the defenders foot, but did not claim the penalty as he slid into the hoardings and then the lino raised his flag for a foul and pray tell what was the third consecitive pen?

Anyway, I think you misread the interview, he meant that he keeps getting up and if they keep fouling him they will get sent off, where does it says he dives to ge them sent off?

He added: ''People want to take you down and get you out of the game and I suppose you can take it as a compliment.

''It's not nice but I think it's to be expected now. In a way they think that's the only way they can stop you. You get up and get on with it like the best players do and go at them again.

''You get used to it. I've got a few people sent off by doing that this year. You get up and get on with it, it's a part of the game.''

"I would however be satisfied with a serious effort to correct the behaviour of one player who is a byword for cheating at the moment "

And in that one sentence Nic you have made it obvious that you are on a witch hunt

Fine - so where would you start

Or are you among the "lets sit on our hands and do nothing"

I appreciate that you do not like it is Bale who is in the cross hairs but Bale, as far as I am concerned, is prime candidate at the moment for an investigation and, if guilty, punishment

There are others out there, Suarez being another screaming, diving, card waving a*se with a racist bent (allegedly) but you know what would happen if Luis was the target ?

all the crap would come out about it being "overseas" players - its a "cultural" thing

As Vis says - pick one from each and every club - follow their every single move

If they cheat - ban them

Because in recent games Bale has, to my view , dived to win penalties

That he has been booked three times for simulation

And that his recent interview in the Telegraph shows him not to care that his behaviour diminishes football - indeed even to be proud of it

If he had said in the interview he dived then I probably would be more sympathetic

It was his excuses about how he only fell over to preserve himself from "serious injury" and bragging about getting players sent off that struck me as worthy of further investigation

    And it still does

''You can see why people say you're diving but I'd rather get out of the way than get hurt, that's what it is. It's football, a contact sport, things do happen and you've got to try to be clever with it.

''I'm more likely to try to get out of the way and not get hurt, rather than get hurt. I tend not to dive.''

''It's not nice but I think it's to be expected now.

''You get used to it. I've got a few people sent off by doing that this year. You get up and get on with it, it's a part of the game.''

Well you got 8 pages out of your little wind up Nic, plenty to brag about on your goon board.

It's not nice but I suppose we have to accept that it is part of posting so we just 'get on with it' after that hey?

Had you cited Bale as one of many who employ the dark arts, as you put it, then I may have given you some credence and replied to the post as debatable material.

But that's not your MO is it. You want de bite rather than debate. Consistently ignoring the crux of counterarguments with gaze firmly fixed on Bale and Bale alone.

    And you labelled me childish.

As I said mate, do one.

But Nic, what did you expect?
We all know its a problem and has been for years, but to cite one player and that a Spurs one has gotten you the reaction you wanted/deserved.
As its a Spurs forum you could have headed it Suarez or any number of players that "go down easy" and then included Bale in that, but no its directed almost entirely at Bale.
Would you, if the forum had been running then, have made such a fuss over the numerous amounts of cheating by team you support to secure the invincible season or numerous times since?

It's a pity you used the subject as wind up material, otherwise we could have had a serious discussion. There are so many players you could have cited to make it worthy, but instead you chose it as a vehicle to bash Bale and stir the site.

Don't play innocent Nic, you're far too intelligent to have misinterpreted his quotes to the level you have unless it is deliberate, particularly in light of the many posts to the contrary.

Don't kid a kidder old friend, I know your wiles far too well.

What I expected Dave, and what got, was a fairly decent conversation between Spuds fans and me concerning Bale, cheating generally, and what can and cannot be done about it.

For what it is worth I think that there is a more cheating now, but that there is a greater enthusiasm among fans to tackle it - even if (embarrassingly) it involves players of your own club. With cameras focused on every single incident the chance to cheat must surely be reduced - though I accept it will never be stamped out.

What I did not expect was personal abuse - as I say it was only from one poster.
