This is really a must win match. I know it's early in the season to be talking about must win matches but we need to win this to get us back on track early and we must win it well to spread confidence through the team.

    1-0, Soldado penalty? I'd take that Baz but I hope for a more convincing score-line in this game . . . . .

    TEAM NEWS

Tottenham's new signings Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela may make their first starts for the club.

Emmanuel Adebayor, Etienne Capoue and Aaron Lennon are out and Vlad Chiriches is unavailable as Spurs are yet to get a work permit for him.

Norwich's Gary Hooper could make the bench after a shin injury delayed his debut after his move from Celtic.

Ryan Bennett is fit again after needing stitches in his left knee, but Elliott Bennett is a long-term absentee.
    MATCH PREVIEW

After the international break, the Premier League returns in earnest and I'm very much looking forward to this clash at White Hart Lane.

Although generally their away form has been very poor, Norwich have an excellent recent record at Tottenham and have picked up four points from their last two visits there.

So it's a ground they approach with no fear under manager Chris Hughton, himself of course a Spurs legend, and I thought they looked very impressive in their last outing against Southampton in which their new summer acquisitions shone.

It was an unprecedented summer of spending by the Canaries with the likes of Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Leroy Fer arriving, but it was of course dwarfed by Tottenham's extraordinary transfer activity.

    FACTS

    Head-to-head

Norwich were undefeated in all three matches they played against Tottenham last season. They drew 1-1 in both league games and beat Spurs 2-1 in the League Cup fourth round - their first win against Tottenham at Carrow Road since 1991.
The Canaries have a good recent record at White Hart Lane. As well as last season's draw they won 2-1 there in the 2011-12 season - and have lost just two of six Premier League visits to the Lilywhites.
Only against Manchester United (nine) and Liverpool (eight) have Norwich lost more games in Premier League history than against Tottenham (six).
This is their 62nd meeting in all competitions. Tottenham have won 26, Norwich 19 and there have been 16 draws.

    Tottenham

Tottenham's defeat to Arsenal was their first loss since losing to Fulham back in March - 10 matches ago.
They have won 10 of their last 14 home games in the Premier League, losing just one (D3).
Going into the weekend, only Everton have had more shots than Tottenham's 42 this season but they have still not yet scored from open play. Brazilian midfielder Paulinho has had 11 of those shots, which is more than any other player without scoring.
After three matches, they are yet to be caught offside once.
Departed star Gareth Bale had a hand in 38% of Tottenham's goals last season (25 of 66; scoring 21 and assisting four).

    Norwich

Norwich may have lost only one of 11 Premier League games at Carrow Road in 2013, but they have won just one of their 10 away matches this year (v Man City).
Nathan Redmond has dribbled past more players (13) than any other top-flight player this season.
Another new signing, Leroy Fer, continued his strong start at the club and made eight of Norwich's 29 tackles against Southampton in their last match.
Ricky van Wolfswinkel has committed more fouls (10) than any other player this season in the Premier League.

A goal in each half from Gylfi Sigurdsson gave Tottenham victory over Norwich City at White Hart Lane and joint top spot in the Premier League.

Andre Villas-Boas handed a debut to new signing Christian Eriksen and the Dane created Tottenham's first goal, with Sigurdsson applying the finish.

The Iceland international converted a Paulinho cross for his second and was denied a hat-trick by John Ruddy.

Andros Townsend almost scored a third but was also denied by Ruddy.

    More to follow.

lloris 5 nothing to do but low score because of hes late punch outside the box that could of been a red
walker 7 good going forward. nothing much to defend
dawson 6 a slip that should of led to a goal
    verts 7 solid
rose 9 man of the match. he was everywhere
    dembelle. 7 he was okay.
ericsson 8 what we been missing. someone to link up play with some vison. nice touch for the first goal.
paullino 7 decent game. this guy will score goals
siggy 8 great game almost got a hat trick. should keep hes place next prem game.
towsend 7 needs to learn when to pass
soldado6 1 chance and he nearly scored.

great performance for 60 mins then we took our foot of the gas. why do we do that.
norwich are the poorest team i seen in a long time at the lane. they offerd nothing but long high balls.

easy win tbh. eriksen pretty good debut. townsend was excellent and danny rose very good. team seems to be gelling nicely now. all seem to be fighting more when we do get in trouble. rose put himself in the way of a certain Norwich goal , great defending from him. only one im worried about is dembele, he seems lost at the moment and I thought he slowed down our play when he received the ball. atmosphere was good first half but fizzled out a bit second half. Norwich didn't help it by not singing hardly at all. mind you they had nothing much to get fired up about. biggest cheer went up when sunderland equalised lol. coys.

we did baz but Norwich were pretty toothless, still a wins a win. watch soldados cheeky back heel from an acute angle , hit the post but if that had gone in it would be all over the papers tomorrow. he gets in some great positions but we didn't seem to find him. rose for me was best player today. see what you guys think later
