Tromsø Idrettslag is a Norwegian professional football team founded in 1920, and based in the city of Tromsø. They play their home games at Alfheim Stadion. Tromsø currently play in the Norwegian Premier League, and holds the position as the northernmost top-level football club in the world. The club was first promoted to the Norwegian Premier League in 1985, where they have played since with the exception of the 2001 season which was spent in the First Division.

Tromsø won the Norwegian Cup for the first time in 1986, and claimed a second title in 1996, when they beat regional rivals Bodø/Glimt 2–1. Tromsø met Chelsea in the 1997–98 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, and won 3–2 at home in the first leg, before losing 7–1 at Stamford Bridge. Tromsø qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Europa League in 2005–06 and 2013–2014.

Tottenham wingers Aaron Lennon (foot) and Nacer Chadli (hip) will miss their Europa League clash against Norwegian side Tromso.

England international Lennon has not played since the opening day of the season and was absent from the squad's training session on Wednesday.

Belgian winger Chadli - signed from FC Twente in July - is still suffering from an adductor muscle strain that kept him out of Saturday's match against Norwich.

Midfielder Etienne Capoue (ankle) is also out, while striker Emmanuel Adebayor continues to train with the development squad.

Well with the exception of the Danny Rose niggle that was no more then a training session in the 1st half. Hope Tromso show a bit more in the 2nd half & at least attempt to make a game of it. Lamela looks a touch over-awed at present. The lad may just be a slow burner. Give Eriksen a run and try Soldado & Defoe up front together just to see if they can gel and forge an understanding . . . . .

AVB said Rose/Dembs/Kaboul should all be fit for Sundays game against Cardiff!

It was a pretty lack lustre game, we should of scored more goals, but at times the team looked a bit disjointed, the players werent really linking up well or havent got use to each other yet, but that will come good in time.

Once Lamela gets a few more games in him, he will be brilliant, you can tell from his first time touches and passes that he will be a special player, knows where to pass the ball before he even gets it. Eriksen class once again, all over the pitch and what a fkn goal! Rose also brilliant giving 200%. Score should of been more, shame defoe didnt get his hatrick, i would start him against Cardiff!

The Beast went about his business in his usual ruthless way. Lamella showed enough to show he will be a force. I was very impressed with Rose and Naughton too Dembele looked a little jaded but Eriksen is going to be a very special player, That goal was out of this World. Gareth who?

Fucking bargain of the century, Eriksen just seems to have so much time and always choses the right option, Lamela too, once Lamela gets a few more games we will see even more, 2 new players and the assists keep coming, that's exactly what we have been missing, the killer ball in the final third and Tromso played just like most of the Prem teams last season, stick 11 men behind the ball, now we have the tools to open teams up. Just wish Eriksen was available for the Arsenal game, because for the last 20 minutes at the empty creates they were Tromso in red.

lamela seems to be getting some stick on other forums. im glad you guys can see what i saw.

he dont seem to just pick the ball up and run. hes another one that looks like he knows when to pass.

he set defoe up with a brillant pass then he set siggy up.

thought hes passing was really good.

as for eriksen. he looks the real deal. someone with forward passiing. he has vison.

glad to see the players are not to badly injurid.

i would think about given rose a rest on sunday and play verts at right back.

There's a reason Baldini thought Lamela was worth nearly 30 million Loght, he just oozes class, always looking around to find the space and he strokes the ball around, there will be games where he can really open up and se his pace, but Eriksen looks like his played for us for years, steal of the century at 11 million

Lamela looked over-awed & ill at ease but you can see the lad has the makings of something Unreal Mudrid will want in a few years but Eriksen, I agree, looks like he has been in the team forever . . . . .
