    arron lennon Empty arron lennon

Post by Guest Thu May 23 2013, 06:00

8 years on from signing him what are the forums honest opinions of him.

For me he is one player we should seriously look to be upgrading on. To think quite a few Spurs fans think Theo is "a sh*t Aaron Lennon" is laughable. He is a impact player off the bench at best, just like Defoe. Yes he has had a "good" season, for him, but that really aint saying much. Does he chip in with enough goals and assists to justify his undisputed starts in the team...? I would love to see Andros given a run next season or Son if we manage to sign him.

    His stats for us.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Lennon

yes i was surprised we signed him up for another 3yrs he gives us pace and keeps defences honest but as he improved from 3yrs ago . the final ball on crossing is hit miss and seams to pass when he should run at them which he used too.

2 or 3 years ago I would have said that Lennon was a much better prospect than Walcott but not now. Walcott has improved a lot and is now a very good player and is scoring regularly. Unfortunately Lennon seems to have stood still and only occasionally frightens defenders.
But I would still keep him unless a fantastic ofer comes in for him. He still has his moments and often contributes but these days more of an impact player.

He's still comparatively young and maybe next years his year.

Bentley may or may not be able to cross but he can't f*cking run at pace with the ball which wingers should be able to do.

bentley can cross. but ye he has no pace.

was anderton fast because he was a great winger better then lennon.

have you ever seen lennon hit a cross in with pace.
tried an in swinger or an outswinger.

Other than Bale we haven't had a decent winger since Ginola and before him Waddle. Anderton got the name sick note for a reason lol.

but surley you can remember when anderton played as a winger. he was so good. he even did it for england.

my point is how come the coaches have not picked up on this.

watch lennon beat a player stop and put a slow floaty cross in.

strikers love fast first time crosses with pace on.

Lought, I've seen Aaron put in loads of low crosses, but our forwards don't have the intelligence to make the runs, our strike force has been so poor last season and even when they did get to Aaron's crosses, they hit it straight at the keeper, if we can get a top class forward, you will see the benefit of Lennon being in the team.

I remember him when he got on the pitch. Mind you he had such long periods on the treatment table I forgot he played for us.
