That's because we are saving Eriksen for the league games, did you notice that when he came on in both games, he made a few passes and then quickened it up. We can play out games like this at our pace and reserve our energy for the league games, which are the priority. Expect a few changes when we get pass this group stage.

I was looking forward to this game, don't see many and to be honest I thought it was terrible but job done. The pitch was disgusting which did not help but the Russians seemed to cope with the conditions better than we did. I am not a coach and wont pretend to be but I thought we played it to tight and were getting hassled of the ball far to easy, much better when we played the long ball which I thought on a pitch as bad as this one would have been the best thing to do. I thought Chiriches looked very cool, but once again Holtby showed that you don't have to pay millions for a class player and he is becoming one, not quite there but he is on his way. There are now supporters who once doubted his ability to make it at Spurs now saying how wrong they were and they are now becoming big fans of his. What did he cost, just over a million wasn't it?, what a bargain, and he does seem to have a good understanding with Defoe.

I agree Len it was so boring. We didn't have any width but as you say, or was it LLR, job done.

I must admit I was one of those that thought at the end of last season I didn't know what all the fuss was all about regarding Holtby. He didn't show any signs of the ability that he is showing now.

He cost 1.5 mil and Lamela 30 mil and at the moment there is no doubt which is the bargain and best buy.

Lamela does get shaken off the ball easily and a couple of extra stone would help as he needs bulking up or he wont survive in the prem.

I'm still waiting to see the talent that everybody was telling me about and at the moment Townsend is the much better player. Perhaps it will develop over the next couple of seasons but at 30mil you would hope for a lot more than he has shown so far.

i dont think towsend the better player but hes more direct.

to me lamela dont look like a winger.

towsend and lennon should be competing for the right wing.

lamela looks like he be good behind the striker but we got holtby errikson for that role.
