Tottenham will be without suspended forward Rafael van der Vaart when Spurs take on Inter Milan in their Champions League Group A match at the San Siro.

Jermaine Jenas could step in, meaning Spurs revert to a 4-5-1 formation with Peter Crouch up front on his own.

Ledley King is also out with a groin injury, so Sebastien Bassong could partner William Gallas at the back.

Inter Milan are missing striker Diego Milito, but Goran Pandev, Esteban Cambiasso and Ivan Cordoba could play.

Milito, who inspired the Italians' Champions League final win over Bayern Munich last season under Jose Mourinho, misses out with a groin problem.

But Cambiasso, Pandev and Cordoba could feature after shaking off niggling injuries, though boss Rafael Benitez said: "For how long is a question I can only answer after Wednesday's training session."

Fully fit, however, is Samuel Eto'o - the striker who has scored 16 goals in 14 appearances for club and country this season.

Rafael Benitez's side have not won, nor even scored, when the Cameroon striker has failed to find the target.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp will go into the match with confidence on the back of Saturday's come-from-behind win over Fulham - the third time in four matches Tottenham have won despite conceding the first goal.

And Benitez believes Inter face a Tottenham side even better than the one that beat the Spaniard's Liverpool side to fourth spot last campaign.

"They invested a lot of money and now they have a lot of quality players in the squad," he said. "So I believe that we have to be very attentive."

Those sentiments were echoed by veteran Inter captain Javier Zanetti, who said: "I believe Tottenham are a very good team and, above all, they are dangerous on the counter. They are very, very speedy players.

"We need to pay particular attention, too, to the set-piece because they are very dangerous."

Inter and Tottenham share the lead in Group A with four points each.
