Foxes Close In On Naughton Deal Empty Foxes Close In On Naughton Deal

Post by Guest Fri Jan 07 2011, 05:09

Leicester city are closing in on the permanent capture of on-loan defender Kyle Naughton.
Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is keen to tie up a deal for the Tottenham Hotspur man and could secure the move in time for Sunday’s FA Cup third round clash against Manchester City.
Naughton, a product of Sheffield United’s Academy, has been impressive for City in a three-month loan spell at the Walkers Stadium.
And a fee of £1.5 million has been reported as enough to secure his services on a permanent basis from White Hart Lane.
The youngster will be ineligible for Sunday’s cup clash with City as part of the loan terms set by Spurs but is set to play if City complete a permanent deal in time.

    Foxes extend Naughton loan
Leicester have secured the services of right-back Kyle Naughton until the end of the season.

The Foxes had hoped to tie up a permanent deal for the Tottenham youngster, but have had to settle for a loan deal deal instead.

The news is still positive for manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, who can now keep hold of the impressive full-back to help the Foxes in their bid for promotion.

In the short-term, Eriksson can be thankful Naughton will be available for City's FA Cup clash with Manchester City on Sunday, as announced earlier.

City will be hoping for a successful second half of the season to persuade Naughton to join on a permanent basis, with rumours holding the youngster still harbours hopes of making it at White Hart Lane.
