    Interesting read

Sounds like some of the properties that we need to acquire are trying to screw us on price.

More or less what was said at the AGM and as somebody said there consulting the fans after the olympic committee make their decision is not actually consulting the fans at all. That was roundly applauded and it seemed the vast majority of share holder/fans were against the move.

Unfortunatly the "majority share holder" is for the move.

The proposals include the re-use of the existing infrastructure in order to maximize the benefit of the public investment to date. Surrounded by an exceptional public realm which would host community-focussed events and activities, the stadium would benefit from the best public transport and access for any stadium in Britain and our plans also include a major tourist attraction based around extreme sports and incorporating specialist sports retailing, restaurants, cafes and bars.

In other words we don't really care about football & fans we just want a cash cow to milk dry . . . . .

True Ion, but the statement also shows that other sports and "community based intrests" will be included. Just like the concerts to bestaged by our "partner" AEG ! The Olympic Stadium will not be solely the home of Tottenham Hotspurs FC. It will be a co-owned area where various companies try to part hard earned cash from everyone. Not just a football stadium, a marketing opportuinity to generate income for intrested parties and voracious shareholders . . . . . . .

I don't see the problem Vis, seriously.

On match days it is ours, as it has always been. On days when no match is being played, what do you care what the stadium is used for? So our 'partner' will make some money from it, well welcome to the Capitalist World where businesses operate to make a profit. Good luck to AEG, they intend to provide, in conjunction with Tottenham Hotspur, a venue for entertainment. People will go there if they CHOOSE to go there, no one will twist their arms.

And some of that profit will go to Spurs. Granted the shareholders will take a wedge of it but I don't begrudge them that either. Let's not forget that, when the new FIFA ruling comes into play, the clubs showing the greatest operating capital/profit are the ones who will attract the better players as they can afford the better wages.

You can choose to 'experience' the total package if you want, or forego it if you choose. Once again, no one is having their arm twisted to shell out bundles for a day out. Besides, who knows what will be charged and what won't or what those charges will be?

As for the atmosphere, I don't swallow that tosh that it will be lost. As much as we make fun of them, the goons now have an atmosphere where Highbury was, well, the Library. Old Trafford have no issues generating lots of noise, even with 'the Prawn sandwich brigade'.
But we are Spurs, we generate the noise of a 60,000 stadium with 35,000. We will have the extras but, if they are proposing to build a stadium along the lines of the NPD, the acoustics will make the noise a safety hazard.

They'll have to pass out ear plugs as standard!

I think a lot of Gremlins are being created out of a wish to see the worst because 'it's not our desire' to move. Mate, I'm no different to anyone else, if Tottenham could offer Tottenham Hotspur what Stratford does then this debate wouldn't happen and my name would be amongst the first on the protest.

But Tottenham can't. More to the point, Tottenham, or Harringey, won't. They've run Tottenham into the ground and EXPECT Spurs to bail them out, whilst extracting their stipend for doing so.

    fcuk 'em!
