Spurs star reveals why he was omitted from squad

    By Ben Pearce, Tottenham correspondent
    Tuesday, November 8, 2011
    11:55 AM

Roman Pavlyuchenko has revealed that he was omitted from Tottenham’s squad at Fulham due to a back injury, which left him “hardly able to walk”.

However, the Russian striker will fly out to Moscow today after declaring himself to be in a “fully fit condition” for national team duty.

“I got this injury during our game against Rubin,” he said. “I felt pain in the back 10 minutes before the break and I asked for a special patch which fixed my back.

“I felt even more pain in the second half and in this condition I wasn’t really useful for my team so I asked to be substituted.

“As I got back to London I was hardly able to walk. The doctors stated that I have neuralgia and advised special physiotherapy and to take medicines.

“But now, I’m much better and will go for Russian national team duty in fully fit condition. I’ll fly to Moscow on Tuesday evening.”

Vedran Corluka has also been selected for Croatia’s Euro 2012 play-off against Turkey, despite Slaven Bilic admitting that it is “still uncertain” whether he will be able to feature.

The 25-year-old has not played since the last international break, when he limped off with a foot injury against Latvia, although he was fit for a place on the bench against Fulham on Sunday.

Luka Modric is likely to play in both legs of the tie against Turkey, but Niko Kranjcar has missed out on the squad as he continues his recovery from a thigh injury - which was also sustained in Croatia’s last match against Latvia.

Not arguing that Lought. But he has hardly set WHL on fire with his prolific goalscoring. You always seem to pick the lost causes to champion mate. Pav is not going to stay with us I very much doubt, just like that other favourite of yours Adel Canthackit.

The Specialist dealing with Roman Pavlyuchenko faces expulsion from the medical fraternity today after breaking the Doctor/Patient confidentiality ruling.

Doctor Feelma Bumpsalott revealed that 'Super Pav' was actually keeping the truth from Spurs fans in his revelation on why he was omitted from selection by Harry Redknapp.

In an exclusive interview with our reporter, Dr Bumpsalott stated 'What he ('Super Pav') has told the press is inaccurate as I actually diagnosed him with C.R.A.P. which basically stands for Chronic Retention and Availability for Passing Syndrome, meaning that he is unable to perform these basic tasks like a normal Human being.'

When pressed for further details, Doctor Bumpsalott finally confessed that this too was untrue and that C.R.A.P. actually stands for ...................... Crap. 'He's crap, said Dr Bumpsalott, 'I've seen enough strikers in my day to know he could represent Russia in Olympic Lazy competitions and win Gold every time.'

Dr Bumpsalott then satated, 'I know I could lose my license here, but I'm not a very good Doctor anyway and the bone idle B*st*rd gets right on my tits!'

adel can hack it, he was man of the match in most or qpr early games in the prem. then aganst us him and swp didnt do much with the latter being worse but then half time warnock takes adel off and goes 442. swp then has a good game but why didnt he start 442. they played 442 at man c aswell and played well

since adel not taken free kicks and barton takes them all yet not scored one of them.

and as for pav at least he can score aganst the man u liverpool and chelsea. has defoe ever scored at arsneal or man u yet played aganst them so many times.

I've no idea why QPR didn't play 442 Lought and to be honest I couldn't give a toss, I don't support them. If Adel was any good he would still be here, he isn't and for me that says it all. The thing is mate it's not just on here that posters don't agree with you, very few agree with you on the facebook pages either. They certainly don't agree with your views on Adel, Pav, Ade and Defoe. I've seen the responses you get. That makes you the only one who is right.

baz i was right last season when i was sayin harry didnt show loyalty. im right now in 451 and ade not getting many chances.

as for facebook page thats full of idiots who change there minds every 2 mins. now defoe is great again.

maybe harry right and defoe better as an inpact sub.

i dont need people to tell me if im right or not.

i rekon you even agree with me 442 at home aganst weaker teams would of brought more goals.

we must be the only team not to score aganst man u away in ages.

gio got best young player of the worldcup now he cant even get a game.

like i said before ronaldo lucky he didnt come to spurs before man u or he wouldnt of been given a chance

Absolute rubbish mate. There are idiots on there as there are everywhere but the majority of them know their football. What it is mate is that the majority don't agree with you. The majority on here don't agree with you either, does that make us idiots then? Aaaaah so that's it, if anyone doesn't agree with you that makes them idiots. On the other hand all those on facebook and on here could just be right. It might actually be that it's you who is wrong fella.

hmmmmm Man Utd this season first game team wasnt right last season played well till Gomes and Ref cost us season before we lost but scored 3-1 lol! FFS Lought Man Utd are the Champions the best team in the league or was depending how you look at it. Ade not getting chances dont be naive it was one game the Fulham one even Baz said he should of scored a couple against QPR he missed a couple against Gooners too and Blackburn. But are we winning Yep so whats to moan about last season we was losing or drawing too many with missing chances cause of Dopey Crouch off form Defoe and Lazy Pav not holding it up well or making the right pass too But Ade is better than all 3 of them and Defoe is looking good just unlucky VDV started on a scoring spree
