His little ‘away day’ against West Ham was a mere blip in his Arsenal career, a career which made sure he retired from football with a few medals in his pocket!

Did he move to win trophies, or did he move because the then owner of Tottenham wouldn’t spend what would have been, the equivalent of todays £100 Million to reinforce the Tottenham squad before he left?

Well, if his recent comments are anything to go by, it is surely the latter?

For some reason, he believes that in order to keep van persie, the club needs to spend £100 Million.
