Re: europa league
I would like to see us win the Europa league or any cup competition as it's been a long time. However I agree that our priority is top 4 and to many cup games, even though we have a stronger squad now than at any time in the past few seasons could put a stop to us reaching that with a few injuries.
So I think the following team could get us a good way in the Europa and League cup with out upsetting the main 1st eleven and possibly could win at least the league cup.
Freidel
Naughton Kaboul Capoue Chiriches.
Townsend Holtby Siggy Chadli
Adeimustpaymyway Kane
I think that team would finish at least mid table if it was in the prem and it would save our top squad from injuries and keep them fresh.
It would also make that parasite Ade work for his £150 grand a week but please don't put him in the first team.

Re: europa league
Sadly it's all about money that's why the CL and the EL have been expanded to get in more games and more money for UAFA.
It's not going to change until football eats itself and all the clubs in Europe say we want change.
I'm sure most clubs would prefer to go back to the way it was but it needs all the major countries to get together for it to happen.
The other point is and Lought touched on it earlier, we all want top 4 to get us in the CL but what's the point if you don't have a hope of winning it. Real, Barca, Bayern and PSG are the teams that will.
Lets just concentrate on being the best in our own country and then see what happens.

Re: europa league
Surprisingly I think it will be more difficult this year to make top 4.
I don't see a lot of change with the usual suspects.
City looked good today and Chelsea have so much talent that I'm sure Mourinio will get them on a run and Utd although they have started indifferntly they are Utd and you can't imagine them being out of the top 4. That leaves Arse, and worringly whinger has them on a roll with Odil pulling the strings, Pool and us.
We have to start scoring goals and not rely on penalties and injury time saviours. With all this possesion we should be putting teams away earlier. We've only lost the one game unfortunatly it was against one of our competitors and in fairness they were'nt playing aswell then as they are now.
Chelsea have a similar problem to us they have a riches of midfield players but find scoring goals a problem and also like us don't know what their best team is.
No, I think it will be more difficult to make top 4 this season more so than in the last couple of seasons but then the other contenders are thinking the same thing.
It is going to be a very exciting season I just wish I could look into the next couple of months and see how it develops but then it wouldn't be any fun would it?

Re: europa league
Baz, could have been today, watched it all on streaming, their keeper was inspired.BazSpur wrote:Arsenal are a one man team again at the moment relying on Ozil to pull the strings and apart from that their squad is paper thin and that is worrying some of the goons I talk to, plus apart from us they haven't played anyone of note. Saw their game today and didn't think they were all that at the back. They will be found out soon enough. We on the other hand can only get better. Our problem is waiting for our new players to gel. Once they do we will batter a few teams this season.

they went on amazin run last season without ozil.
they have players to come back like the ox arteta pokdoski .
they are stronger then last season.
we all take the piss out of mertsaker and kolseny but they keep getting the results.
i do think our team is stronger and if they wont win nothing this season wenger will be gone and then ozil will be go aswell
