    Has passed away. Great orator, dedicated Socialist. Said by his own party and opposition parties to be the kindest man they knew. Never backed down from his Socialist principles even though it cost him the 1983 general election which saw Maggie Thatcher sweep him and the Labour party aside. Even she sent a tribute to the great man tonight. RIP Michael Foot.

    Ah what a shame. An honest politician and a man of principles. I used to hate the way the tory press used to ridicule him. He had more sense & morals than any of the meeja shitpack. Back in the 80's I was quite involved in the union movement and had the pleasure of hearing the guy make a speech at a conference. Intelligence, wit, humanitie & belief all rolled into one. RIP Mr Foot. . . . . . .
