    Thudd Empty Thudd

Post by Guest Thu Mar 04 2010, 09:43

OK only meeja speculation but if any truth in it we will miss Thudd. He has settled in nicely alongside Sgt Wilson this season and his over-all game is coming along nicely. He's not the finished article but for me he is starting to fill the midfield gap we have had since Carrick left us . . . . . . .

Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone faces a long injury lay-off after a scan revealed he suffered ankle ligament damage against Everton.
    Full story: The Daily Mail
    Just done an edit as found a bit more info . . . . . .

Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone will see a specialist to assess the ankle ligament damage he suffered during Sunday's win over Everton.
The 23-year-old was injured when he was tackled by John Heitinga early in the second half and left White Hart Lane in a protective boot.
"Scans revealed that Tom has suffered damage to the ligaments in his right ankle," said a statement from the club.
"He will see a specialist before deciding on the best course of rehab."
He joins fellow midfielder Jermaine Jenas, winger Aaron Lennon and defenders Jonathan Woodgate and Ledley King on a lengthy injury list. As a result, Spurs have recalled midfielder Jake Livermore from his loan spell at Peterborough.

Hudd has defintitely improved his game this season and we're going to miss him however I'm still not sure if he is up to it when pressured by the top teams ...

But I do agree with you Vis about Hudd being the best to fill the role Carrick played for us , good link up play and all that .... Dissapointed with his shots to goal, target ratio...Not in the Zokora league for this failing in his game but for someone who can hit a ball like he does , I think we'd all expect a better return..

Not sure about Kaboul as his replacement, perhaps it would be better to play, what quite a few of us want to see ....BAE at left back with Bale left winger and have the croation boys Mod and Niko swapping from the right side and central postions like they do for their national team , thou they usualy have done this from the left wing ..... Im sure they can do it for us nonetheless . It would make us a more vunerable team but also a more attacking one ...At this stage of the season its wins we need , not draws so perhaps its how we should go now the Hudd is out ...

Deffo not the young Marlon Brando that is Kaboul Arnie. I just don't rate the guy and I don't think he is good enough to play in the games we have remaining. I would look to Kranky to play just in front of Sgt Wilson and ,as you say, Bale & Moddle on the flanks. If Sgt Wilson picks up his last chance saloon booking (and thats a given I think) we could be in sh*t street. If Ledley wasn't so fragile I would use him as holding midfield but I'm just not sure he would be robust enough. That I think is when we see Kaboul. As ever where my beloved Spurs are concerned I'm always happy to tuck into a large plate of 'umble pie so lets hope Kaboul proves me wrong . . . . .

Here's hoping Harry has Kaboul in the right frame of mind Vis.

Looking at it from one perspective though, he'll do far less damage in midfield than he would as CH if his game is off.

Bad as a team and you have to give creidt to Everton for their never say die attitude, they just stuffed Manu 3-1, were unlucky to only draw at stamford bridge and the Emirates, so no matter how it finished, it was a good result and the first half was probably the best ive seen us play all season.

By all accounts a game of two halves , Dave ..

I think we will have to be on top of our game for more than just 45 mins per match during April ....

For sure mate, but those three could all be vying for the title, they will be nervous as weel and we are at home for two of them, any luck Lennon will be back by then, fresh as a daisy.

Lets hope so Ion. Love the crack about less damage. I would love to see him do well and prove me wrong but I don't feel he is Premiership class. I would rather we had called O'Hara back. He would at least have given consistency whereas Kaboul is, to say the least, erratic. I think the only reason Kaboul came back to The Lane was to help Pompey's debt situation but 'arry is a good judge of players and maybe he see's something I'm missing. I suppose the only way for the lad to prove himself is to get a run of games & with Thudds abscence he may well get them, but it does concern me . . . . . . . . .

I listened to game on radio Arnie so you don't get a full understanding but from what I heard DJ summed it up perfectley. We seemed to lose our way when Thudd went off and done well in the end to get 3 points. Credit to Everton who pushed us to the end of the game . . . . . .

The problem with Kaboul is he plays CD most of the time. I think he looked out of place in Centre Mid. As has been said lets hope Arry's judgment is spot on.
