    The Special One

Harry in the press this morning has stated that he
doesn't want 4 or 5 signings this summer, but one 'special' signing who
can lift us to the next level, as Fernando Torres did for Liverpool.

    There
is no question in my mind that the player in question will be a
striker. He's rotated the strikers more than any other position on the
field, which leads me to believe he's not quite happy. Roman
Pavlyuchenko threw a spanner in the Defoe/Crouch works by repeated good
performances on the turn of the year, which made it very hard to drop
him. This good form seems to have escaped him though, not scored in a
while, and it's no secret that Harry and Roman have had their
    differences.

Harry using the words 'expensive' and 'special' in
the same breath makes me shudder with excitement. It's the first time
he's really shown intent in the transfer market, and it's the first time
he's acknowledged the need for improvement.

    Who will it be? Who
do you want it to be? Who will be sacrificed? This summer, all will be
revealed, but I can't help but think we'll get points deducted or
something because I feel anxious about this season; Spurs in the top
four, World Cup and a new face at Spurs! It's too much.

ROMELU LUKAKU - the next Drogba. Anderlecht
and Belgium. Highest league scorer. International, Champions League and
Europa League experience. 6ft4, 14st, amazing speed and skill on the
deck. Unbelievably, he is only 16. Would cost £20m but current level of
play is excellent and potential is stratospheric.

KB71 - your posting makes me wonder who the
youngest player ever to appear in a Champions League game is...?

    Jenas_Cures_Cancer

Jenas, funny enough it was another Anderlecht
player at the time Celestine Babayaro who played aged 16years and
87days. He got sent off LOL

    kernowboy71

Lass Diara, Yaya Toure or Zlatan ;-) (or all
    3)

    Greavsy

That's great info - I took a look at his
wikipedia page and thoroughly enjoy it! Thanks!

would love to see Lukaku. modern day striker
and a great athlete. wouldn't bust up the wage structure which i think
is important. plus whoever buys him now would make a fortune from him if
they couldn't keep on to him a few years down the line as he would
count towards home grown players for premiership sides by then. Also
Huntelaar may be caught without suitors since he is turning into a
dissapointment wherever he goes - somewhat unfairly i feel. he still has
the best goal per minute ratio in milan i think. if no one went for him
then maybe he would compromise on wages and AC Milan only paid 15
million i think... of course he will probably go and have a great world
    cup

OK , so we go and get a big money Striker, i just hope it aint someone who is bought just to make a statement "we got the money, we can do it" and upsets the wage structure we got in place and most of all the team spirt we have!!!

Could this be the special one ? Knocking on a bit but has the quality , experience & footballing brain to still do a job . . . . .
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp wants to sign Spain's veteran striker Raul from Real Madrid in a bid to strengthen Spurs' Champions League chances.

It would worry me if Raul was Harry's idea of "class" sure he's scored a lot of goals for Real but he has been there 16 years and he has hardly played a major role in their side for a couple of seasons now.
He certainly doesn't seem better than what we have already and I hope it's just paper talk.

Ive been seeing a few Harry comments of late , regarding Defoe and not all positive I might add . Could we see the unthinkable and Harry sells Defoe ?

If Harry decides a major forward shake up, it could be , Pav 12m, Keane 10m, Defoe 15m and Crouch 10m ..Total = 47m ...

Then theres the obvious sell ons ... OHara 6m, Jenas 8m, Hutton 6m, Total =20m

Add the possible 40m funds Levy could hand Harry .. Meaning a Grand Total of 107m...

Got a feeling Lew's 'Transfer Cobblers' thread will be in overdrive next couple of months ....

107 million for Harry the wheeler dealer to do his thing or just the one signing like he states , mmm do I need to think about that one... A big signing? Kopfschuettel
