Brought back memories Empty Brought back memories

Post by Boltjean Thu Aug 19 2010, 05:51

Last night's game brought back memories. The 1961-62 season saw us in the European Cup for the first time in the clubs history, and we did not fair to well in our opening game back then either loosing 2-4 away to Gornik Zabreze in the first leg. At the time I like many Spurs supporters thought that was it, we were out but Bill, Danny and the rest of that great side proved us wrong in the return leg by thrashing Gornik 8-1 with goals from Blanchflower, Jones 3, White, Smith 2, and Dyson. I wonder if history will repeat it's self next week?,I would not be at all surprised. Both these games were watched by a total of 126,737 supporters.
