Have We Had A Lucky Escape

Loic Remy signed for Marseille Yesterday. He past a medical and the deal went through. But today a scan has shown a he has a heart defect. Marseille have said he will not play for them and are seeking advice as to their next move.

Lucky escape for him.....He wouldn't be the first player to drop down dead on a football field From an unknown heart condition.

Was it Asa Hartford, back in the '70's, who had a "big" move and they then found out he had a hole in the heart ? My sympathies go out to the lad and I hope he is fine & can continue his career . . . . . .

Wasn't Hartford meant to move to Man Citeh? Feel sorry for Remy.

actualy the whole in the heart asa went on to heve a decent carreer at man city wba and everton and was capped a by scotland and played for them in the 78 world cup, i dont think the heart issue held him back at all and was to his credit that he had a fullfilled career with such a prob, i dont think it affected any big move for him, maybe wrong.

I believe it was Leeds that pulled out of a big move for ASA when the found the heart defect....but i could be wrong? I am sure Wikipedia will tell us? lol

Think you are right Boycey. I think he was going to move from Citeh to Leeds until the medical found he had a heart defect.
