Sad news for me

I will only be coming on here now and again for quite some time as my wife had a stroke over Christmas and is in hospital and will be there for sometime. She is paralysed all down her right side and her speech is is not good but she is in one of the best stroke units in the country in Kings Lynn and she has always been a strong woman and a fighter so we are hoping she will recover some sort of her normal life. We can only pray but she was a healthy and fit woman before the stroke so we hope.

Sorry to be the burden of bad news guys but I will occasionally come on the forum if only to help relax as I will be at the hospital every day until late while she goes through therapy.

If she is a strong and determined Woman then I'm sure she'll fight her way out of this Mikey. My Mother in Law had a stroke a few years ago, she's 84, and made a full recovery from it.

The only advice I can give is to remain optimistic, both for yourself and for her, and do not let her start to feel sorry for herself. Keep reminding her of the fighter she is and I'm sure she'll battle through.


I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we wish your Wife a speedy recovery and many more Happy years with yourself.

Keep the faith mate and give her all of our very best.

I am so sorry to hear about your wife Mike, I pray she makes a speedy and full recovery, it will take much effort from both of you but I am sure you will win the battle in the end. Take care.

The only advice I could offer is a bit more practical - get yourself a bag of change - the QEH car park is a bugger

Thank you guys your kind thoughts and good wishes are very welcome and I will read them to her tomorrow and I'm sure it will cheer her up. She is struggling to talk at the moment and her right side is paralysed but she still has her sense of humour and was laughing today. She's a great lady and the love of my life and has been for 50years, that's how long we will have been married in March. I know she will get well even if it takes a long time.
