Ledley King has injured his groin again and may now have to
undergo an operation. The 30-year-old was well on the way to a return
but suffered a recurrence of the groin problem in training on Tuesday.

Ledley has not featured since the 2-1 win
at Fulham in mid-October and Harry confirmed the setback for the club
captain and is now deciding whether surgery is required.

    Article continues below...

"Up until Ledley got injured, it was good
craic with David (Beckham) training as if he was just one of the boys
and Jonathan Woodgate out there too after his long lay-off," said Harry.

"Ledley has done his groin again. Now we have to make a decision on an operation.

"Ledley was playing great and then, with the last kick of the morning, did his groin again.

"We've been deciding if he needs an
operation or not, so we've been pushing him a bit. He'll have to talk to
the medical people now to make that decision."

deciding if he needs an operation ?this is beyond a joke now, they should be deciding how much to pension him off , sorry ledders but its time to hang up them boots and let us move on sorting out a reliable back 4 who are ever presents and can give gomez some stability.

Ledley King does not need an operation to patch up the groin damage that he suffered in training yesterday.

The Tottenham Hotspur club captain tore a muscle at the very end of the session and Harry Redknapp, the manager, said the centre-half might require surgery.

But after consultations with the club's medics, the decision has been taken to press ahead with a programme of strengthening work, with an operation, at this stage, not necessary.

The injury is a recurrence of the one that King suffered at Fulham on 16 October, his last game for the club. Surgery was considered but decided against during a problematic rehabilitation. In many respects, the defender is now back to square one.

I had given up on ledley a long time ago, i dont think we will see the dream partnership of woodgate and king grace the centre back positions for spurs ever again.

Sad but we have to move on and do the best with who we have.

Shame...injury free what a great defensive pairing.

We need continuity, cant keep chopping and changing, Dawson first on the team sheet, but who do you think his long term partner should be? I would go for Kaboul, as ive sen a massive improvement from the player that left us. However, dont know what this new South African is like, his young and powerful.

It will be a defensive quartet IMO, Dawson, Kaboul, Bassong and Bosingwa, if he makes the grade. 4 quality defenders with pace, power, poise and brains.

What a line up, makes me all tingly. lol!

Every one a youngster and in a position where, traditionally, you get more longevity, as an outfield player, than anywhere else.

Championship winning sides are built from the back and our foundations look awesome.

Dawson is a shoo in. Kaboul just makes me fat through all the 'umble pie I keep eating & Bassong hasn't let us down when called upon. I wait to see what Boswinga (? spelling ?) is all about, but thats at least 3 mighty fine centre-halfs without the likes of Gallas, King & Woodgate . . . . . . . .
