Torres Hands In Transfer Request Empty Torres Hands In Transfer Request

Post by Guest Sat Jan 29 2011, 14:38

After having a huge bid from Chelsea rejected, Fernando Torres has rocked Liverpool by handing in a formal transfer request.

A short statement from Liverpool Football Club reads, "Fernando Torres tonight submitted a written transfer request, which has been rejected by Liverpool.

"Fernando is under a long-term contract and the Club expects him to honour the commitment he made to Liverpool FC and its supporters when he signed the agreement."

Now that Torres himself has asked for a transfer request, Chelsea's position has improved. The Scousers will desperately try to hang on to their star striker, and no doubt ickle Steve G will try to come out and save the day by talking him into staying, but the fact that Torres has officially handed in a transfer request is good news for Chelsea.

The news comes as a huge blow to Liverpool, who had just hours before confirmed they are on the verge of their own club record transfer fee signing of Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez for around £23million.

Torres' body language has alway shown that he wants to leave the club, hence his under par performances. If they force him to stay he will get worse or will the arrival os Suarez change his mind??
