Speculation may continue about possible transfer targets for Spurs
this January but manager Harry Redknapp has indicated today that it
could be another quiet winter at the Lane.
Speaking on Talksport, Harry did highlight the defensive injury problems that Spurs have suffered since the start of the season.
“I’m hoping that Michael Dawson comes back,” Harry said.
“He’s got this Achilles injury. Hopefully we will get a decision on him this week.
“He’s going for another scan on that.
“William Gallas is coming back now as well. He did a fantastic job
for us last season and, if I get them lads fit, we are OK, it’s not a
problem.”
So those comments would tend to rule out a move for a central
defender and Harry rounded off the interview by suggesting that possible
reinforcements elsewhere were surplus to requirements.
“Other than that I wouldn’t know where to bring anyone else in. We are pretty strong all over the pitch,” he concluded.
Last January, the club brought in Steven Pienaar and Bongi Khumalo,
neither of whom has really featured for Spurs for a combination of
reasons and it looks like it could be more of the same in the winter
window of 2012.
