Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes Ledley King's dip in form can be attributed to the fact he has been playing with an injury for the past two months.
Michael Dawson has been joined in the treatment room by Younes Kaboul to mean Redknapp has only been left with William Gallas and Ryan Nelsen.
Meanwhile, Spurs captain King has been playing through the pain barrier after suffering an injury in training in February.
"Ledley's a fantastic player, but it is difficult to keep that standard up when you don't train at all," Redknapp is quoted as saying by London24.
"He did get a knock eight weeks ago, out here on a Friday morning.
"One of the young goalkeepers charged into him and hit him sideways, and made a mess of his knee, and I think that set him back from where he was before.
"It's been a long season for Ledley, not training and just coming out and playing. But he's still there and hopefully, with five games to go, we can keep him going.
If this is true then why are you playing him you idiot.
