ffs, perhaps he should try to concentrate for 90 minutes in each game if he wants a "bigger club" to come in for him!!

He is a bright footballer so I am surprised to see that sort of story - unless his agent has been beavering away to get some sort of deal on in Italy or Spain

I like Ekotto, but sometimes he hesitates or panics and hoofs the ball upfield giving the ball to the opposition. Even when he gets forward he hesitates once again to cross the ball in first time.

So if he left, i would be dissappoined, but we could find better !

He has given us a few good years service, its little wonder he want's to move on he still has a future at the highest level France or Italy would suit his game

Hmmm some of the comments don't seem to agree with him.

Is this what happens when an average left back misses a few games
through injury? He seems to have developed a hugely inflated ego &
sense of self-worth. Bye bye Benoit - you are hugely replaceable. Apoel
Nicosia play in the CL every year - you might be better than average
    there....

Since when did Assou-Ekotto get "too good" for the Europa League?? Not even in the top 5 Left-Backs in the Prem.

We can't let Assou-Ekotto leave, he has been one of our most consistent
performers for the last 3 seasons! He isn't the best defensively; but
he puts his all into every game, his linkup play with Bale is immense
and we don't have any cover.
I hope Levy holds this "gentlemen's agreement" with as much regards as
he did the one with Modric!

What a Plonker, he aint even good enough for Tottenham and know he
wants more Money!!Allways thought he was Tottenham's weak link, i could
see Baines or Jordi Alba at Tottenham Next year.

I think he sees his stock dropping with soaring Danny Rose and wants to quit while he's ahead.

He's never been a favourite of mine never seemed a team player. Makes to many mistakes in a game, far to casual. He will have a big ego crash when no "big" clubs come in for him.

But then Harry will put his arm around him and tell him everthing will be alright and he'll have another poor season.

I was hoping Naughton was going to play this season I hope he does next year. That's been a lot of the trouble with Ekotto he has no one pushing for his place. Rose at the moment doesn't seem to be the answer.

i dont blame him, at least he tells it like it is, no Bollox with him, straight up more dough on his contract if we want him or he might be off to a higher placed club , here or abroad.

Apparently he has tweeted now that he is not leaving Spurs, how did 6/7 paragraphs get to the press then? also the bit about the gentlemens agreement sounds a lot like Modric last summer.
I wonder if its our friends at the meeja rehashing old stories to stir things up?

I would be sorry to see him go. He has always made it clear that playing for Spurs is his job. How he pays the bills. Sometimes he can be too casual and some games he just dosen't seem that intrested but hey I have days at work like that too. I go and do the best I can for my wages but on that day I'm not that intrested I don't always go that "extra yard". OK it's not often in my job I play left back against Real Madrid in the quarter finals of the Chumps League so I guess that isn't a very good analogy lol ! When Benny is at his best though he is one of the best and his good games outweigh his bad and I don't recall him costing any points/wins etc ala Gomes. Cashley Cole is possibly better and more consistent but not many others can claim to be his better in the Premier League . . . . ..
