Despite some recent undeserved luck, anyone who knows anything about football can see that Tottenham Hotspur is still a club in turmoil.
Clearly embarrassed by the injustice of the result at Old Trafford, the contempt in which the players hold their pompous manager was evident from the way they exaggerated their embraces with the Portuguese at the final whistle. To all but the most blinkered and gullible supporters, watching the players congratulating their inept manager was no more convincing that watching one of those creepy child-murdering relatives who appear on TV appealing for information about their missing children. We`re never fooled - we know they did it, just as plainly as we can sense the unease with which the Tottenham players embrace their unpopular manager. We can see it in their eyes - their yearning for Tomato Ketchup, afternoons off and training sessions free from boring old tactics and practicing free kicks.
Although there is not yet any substantial evidence that the aloof Tottenham manager bribed the Old Trafford officials in an attempt to prolong his doomed career, rumour has it that rumours are already beginning to circulate. This on top of the on-going feud between Hugo Lloris, who is rumoured to be thinking about saying something negative about his manager, according to reports of a story in a very reliable and honourable newspaper by an anonymous reporter who overhead some bloke say he`s heard a conversation in the toilets at a pub quite near to White Hart Lane on Saturday night. Despite the desire of so many in the media to see AVB succeed and keep these murmurings of discontent under wraps, surely it cannot be long before this very public row escalates into a full scale mutiny.
Not only that but AVB continues to antagonise Spurs fans with his complete lack of respect for the recent traditions of his club. Apparently unaware of Spurs` great history of surrender at Old Trafford, AVB had the arrogance to pick an strong, attacking team, set out in a coherent, considered formation with every man knowing and understanding exactly what was expected of him. Has he not looked at the record books? Has he not seen teams that his predecessor selected against Sir Alex? Has this buffoon no respect for authority and tradition? Does he even know what "bare-bones" means?
And what about his contemptible attitude towards the Europa and League Cups? What was this moron thinking? Does he not understand that football is not about winning things? Does he not understand our recent tradition of ignoring all competitions apart from the Premier League, claiming to aim for the title, capitulating after Christmas and then branding the fans idiots for being stupid enough to believe that they were being told a few weeks before?
Meanwhile, when asked if the Manchester United loss (for it can scarcely be justly described as a victory for Tottenham) had had any baring on his decision to stop beating his wife, AVB refused to comment.
