hard game this Berba will score no doubt about it so will either Dembele or Dempsey 1 thing im worried about is if we sit back as much as we did against Liverpool in the 2nd half we will be in the Thames lol! If we keep sitting back against teams its only a matter of team before we get tanked it worked v Utd and Liverpool but not against City Least its not Benitez in charge lol!

Don't agree we sat back last night, more a case of a very good Liverpool forcing us back. What I did think was wrong was the long airborne clearances to Defoe, he's got little chance of winning those.

I too think Liverpool have to be given credit for their play but I feel our hesitancy in central defence also contributed to that second-half showing. Gallas' legs just give way in the second halves of games and his poor passing and poor clearances spread to the rest of the team .

If you cannot play the ball about in a confident manner with your defenders, it makes everything else difficult as the platform, and they're the platform , has to be there for a possesion based game

Example : We have throw-ins in our own half and no one wants to offer themselves for the short one as the confidence is gone, so we instead throw it down the line to an isolated Spurs player surrounded by opponents who then win it back and just start their attacks again .

    Whoops ...Fulham Match Thread lol..

    JOL v AVB ...

Hangeland & Ade are serving suspensions...

    Berba must be stopped...

Dembele and Dempsey return to show the Jackos what they're missing.

Last season at the Cottage, they battered us but we managed a 3-1 win in the end .
I think this is a going to be a close game between to evenly match teams but Bale's form will just about carry us over the line.

    COYS!

what a boring 1st half, falling asleep here, spurs still in 1st gear.Bale & Lennon need to stay on the wings and get those crosses in, they've switched and theres no one down the right, Bale is playing central.

Bale booked again for diving, is this because of reputation. I thought he was caught but I'm biased. Anyway he's got to be very careful from now on.

Jermain Defoe struck twice against Fulham to help Tottenham to a third straight Premier League victory.

Fulham keep Sandro broke the deadlock in the 55th minute with a low, long-range attempt that Schwarzer will feel he should have kept out.

There were concerned looks from the Tottenham bench when Bale hobbled off but Defoe struck twice in five minutes to cement the points.

His first goal came after intelligent play by Bale's replacement Gylfi Sigurdsson in the 72nd minute while his second, after Dempsey's excellent threaded pass, was a quality low finish from 12 yards out.

Fulham had their chances - none more so than when Mladen Petric was denied by Hugo Lloris from close range following John Arne Riise's early low cross.

But Jol can have few complaints about the outcome against his former club. er Mark Schwarzer was at fault as Sandro opened the scoring from 30 yards following a goalless first half, before Defoe struck from close range to make it 2-0 soon after.
The hosts struggled to respond and Defoe added a third after a pass by former Cottagers player Clint Dempsey.

Tottenham's Gareth Bale was booked for diving for the second straight game.

Defoe, 30, showed he is a striker in form, his second goal a well-executed low effort to confirm he is one of the best finishers in the Premier League.

The England international - capped 52 times by his country - has 14 goals in all competitions this season. In total, he has 128 goals for Tottenham, five behind Alan Gilzean, who is the club's seventh all-time leading scorer

But victory came at a cost for Tottenham, who recorded a rare clean sheet in the league.

Defender Michael Dawson went off injured and had to be replaced in the first half, while in-form Bale also failed to finish the match after appearing to suffer a hamstring problem.
It turned out to be an eventful afternoon for Bale, who was booked for the seventh time this season.

Referee Chris Foy had no hesitation in cautioning the Wales international in the 24th minute for diving after a challenge with Steve Sidwell.

Yet Bale had cause to feel aggrieved by Foy's decision as he appeared to be fouled by Fulham's former Aston Villa midfielder.

This was very much a case of friends reunited on the banks of the River Thames - Tottenham's Dempsey and Mousa Dembele lining up against their old club while Fulham, managed by former Spurs manager Martin Jol, had ex-Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov in attack.

Berbatov rarely threatened as Tottenham picked off the hosts after a goalless first half.

Did enough in the first half to keep Fulham at bay. Much better second half and again Dempsey looked as though he was getting into the game. Shame about Bale and Dawson, hope they aren't out too long.
