The Mirror are claiming that Emmanuel Adebayor has completed his loan move to Tottenham Hotspur.

They posted on their Twitter account at just after 10pm: “BREAKING: Spurs have completed loan signing of Emmanuel Adebayor”.

    There
has been no official confirmation from Spurs as of yet, so let’s just
watch this space and see what develops over the next few hours.

    From today's Sun . . . . .

Tottenham agree a loan deal for Manchester City’s Emmanuel Adebayor

TOTTENHAM last night agreed a loan deal for striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Manchester City's ex-Arsenal hitman will have a medical today.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp saw his side soundly beaten 3-0 by Manchester United on Monday and admitted he needed new signings.

So he has swooped for Togo ace Adebayor, who is behind Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli in the pecking order at City.

Tottenham have agreed to pay a larger percentage of the 27-year-old's £170,000-a-week wages than they were originally willing to splash out.

But the £25million striker will not be allowed to make his Spurs debut this Sunday when they face his parent club.

The move could open the door for Peter Crouch's exit from White Hart Lane, with QPR and Fulham both interested in the England international.

    Just had a thought.

Medicals aren't normally carried out on loan players are they. Sources report that Ade is having his medical today.

Have we got him on the free now then?

ITK from the mods on SC is that he is having his medical today .... Fact! They never commit unless they are seriously confident.

Additionally, it appears we also have Lass.

Noises are that we are after 2 CB's as well, Tasci and Cahill from what I'm hearing.

    Getting rather excited now.

2116: Yep, with his side 5-0 up on aggregate and crusising, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp seems to be getting busy in the transfer market. He has signed Spain under-21 attacking midfielder Iago Falque on a season-long loan from Juventus.

Tottenham have confirmed the signing of striker Emmanuel Adebayor on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Earlier in the week Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp had confirmed the club were in talks with City over a loan move for the 27-year-old forward.

Adebayor fell out with Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini last year and spent a spell on loan at Real Madrid.

Spurs have also signed Spain U21 midfielder Yago Falque on a season-long loan from Serie A giants Juventus.
Tottenham and City had been in talks for some time over a deal for Adebayor, with his reported £170,000 a week wage packet proving to be the only real problem.

"The chairman is talking to Man City about the player," Redknapp admitted earlier in the week.

Mancini had made it clear the former Togo international, who joined City from Arsenal in a £25m deal in July 2009, had no future at a club that has strikers Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko on their books, while the player said in April that he wished to remain with Real.

Adebayor scored twice against Tottenham in the Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash between the two teams at the Bernabeu.

During that match in April, Spurs fans chanted abusive songs at the former Arsenal marksman, but the player has since said that the songs would not put him off signing for Redknapp's team.
He boasts a fantastic record against Spurs, scoring eight for Arsenal against their London rivals alone, and has grabbed 81 goals in 186 appearances in all competitions in England.

Tottenham were keen to sign a new striker having recently sold Robbie Keane to LA Galaxy, and with the lack of goals at White Hart Lane last season as their strikers - Roman Pavlyuchenko, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe and Keane - scored only 18 league goals between them.
    ADEBAYOR'S CAREER

Adebayor has a high-maintenance personality but Redknapp insisted at Old Trafford on Monday that if he can "get Adebayor at it" he can be a pivotal addition to their squad.

The lack of a regular marksman cost Spurs dear last season and if Redknapp's man-management skills can fire up Adebayor, he may have pulled off another transfer market masterstroke.

Whassup Lought, too much of a positive day so you feel the need to bring it down?

Or is it the realisation that Pav is not quite the wonderful striker you made him out to be?

Maybe it's because Adel has let you down by being practically invisible in his first 2 matches?

Do what I do mate, look for the positives in the club I love.

After all, you don't need to look too far ................. We're littered with them.

Well I must say Im happy to have him on board ...to be perfectly honest Im happier that we've got him on a season long deal rather than an a 20+ million transfer fee.. He comes to us Im sure, with the idea of putting himself in the shop window as theres no way he will stay with us beyond this season unless he takes a massive pay cut ...

Im suprised Citeh have gone for this but then they've obviously now set their sights on more than 4th place, which is our target.... He gets to play against all the other teams except against them and both clubs are happy it seems...

I also now get to call him Ade ...

    Move over Pav ..

super super Ade, super super Ade, super super Ade, super Adybayor cheers
