    the good

Did you know? Defoe has scored eight goals in the last nine Premier League games in which he has played the entire 90 minutes.

    the not so good

Interesting fact. In the last 9 premier League games that Jermaine Defoe has STARTED, spurs have only managed one win.

Another very interesting fact supporting the super sub hypothesis (scoring where space is opened up at the back due to tiredness or the other team pushing higher up field) is that:

over the past two years, of the 21 goals he has scored, only 6 of those were in the first half. So 72% were scored in the second half.

The teams that he scored against in first half were: Norwich, Reading, Chelternam, Hearts, Stevenage, Moldova. Teams with not amazing defences.

If he didnt get his two goals on Sunday , Spurs fans would be caning him .

He's second goal was a goal that can only be scored against poor opposition . I'm hoping he does that against one of the big boys.

    And assists?

Interesting post match quote from Bale:

"He's looking sharp, isn't he? Bit greedy, as normal. But that's him. It's great for him and great for the team. As long as somebody's scoring, I don't think any of us mind,"

It's when his greed costs us games so many get annoyed with him ...

ye i saw that. them two seem to have a bit of history not passing to each other. .

i dont mind him being greedy when we 3 0 up but when its tight he should use hes brains.

sheringham berbatvo always seem to do the right thing in front of goal. if a player in a better postion they would pass to them

Defoe is a greedy player. It's a lot of what his game is about. When he is on fire it works. When his form dips it backfires. A confidence player who thrives on encouragement & is unafraid to take chances on his own. Sometimes he should look to lay-off but that is Defoe & that is his game. Jermain Defoe? He's a Yiddo . . . . .
