Tottenham midfielder Sandro turned up early to catch his flight to Germany for the Champions League clash with Werder Bremen - only to be told he was not even in the squad.

The bungling Brazilian, an £8 million summer signing from Internacional, is still learning English so relies on Portuguese and Spanish-speaking team-mates to help him out.
Honduras midfielder Wilson Palacios told him to get to Stansted airport "bright and breezy" on Monday morning, according to the Daily Mail, and he eagerly followed instructions.
But the 21-year-old was not named in Spurs’ A-squad for the Champions League and needs to have been at the club for two years to be considered for the U21 exemption list.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp and club secretary Darren Eales told the shocked player he could not fly to Germany but would instead play in a friendly match with the reserves.

It is not the first time Sandro has been involved in an awkward situation with his new club.
He was due to arrive at White Hart Lane in late August but initially failed to show after he was invited to train with the Brazil squad for the international break in early September.
This led to Redknapp joking that the player's existence may be a "myth", although he eventually joined up with the squad.
Spurs have an embarrassment of riches in central midfield, with Tom Huddlestone, Jermaine Jenas, Jamie O'Hara and Palacios all competing with Sandro for two or three available places.
Sandro, who agreed a deal with Spurs in March but waited until he won the Copa Libertadores with Internacional before joining the North London club, appears to have been bought with the future in mind.
