"There is no rule to say that the team which finishes fourth gets a Champions League place. UEFA give the FA four Champions League spots, and then the FA decide who to nominate to enter the competition. If they do give it to the fourth placed side, they can then reject the opportunity.

    So there are two options:

    1. The FA give the place to us.
    2. The team finishing fourth (Tottenham or Manchester City) reject the offer and nominate us.

There are many reasons to do so. We have an exception record in the competition, we have a set of wonderful fans, and some of the greatest nights in the competitions history, and we are the most successful club in the country.

We need to get things moving now. Mathematically, the chance may not be there, but morally, or even legally, we could have a case.

I'm proud of the players and manager today. We did what we thought was the right thing for the club.

Things so bad at Liverpool, they are begging Spurs & City not to take 4th CL spot & give it to them, because they are this supposed greatest team of all time, that are finishing 7th in 2010. 'Morally' & 'Legally' they have a case apparentley because before i was born they were really good! Now they are rubbish but deserve to be in all the big competitions because of the glory years of past squads!

I'm embarrassed for the Liverpool fans who believe this!

In 2010 Liverpool are just not good enough to compete at the top level! History is just that - History! Nobody cares how many times you won the league or European Cup in the past.

Its not about where you were! Its about where you're going! Europa League for years to come if Man City have anything to do with it!

Trophies & Money talks in football these days & Liverpool just don't have enough of either to compete with others at the moment!

Spurs & City are trying to make history, not be history, like Liverpool!

Love the bit about great fans. That's what I call irony. Does the poster fail to remember Heysel and the subsequent banning of English clubs ? What about the Euro away days of the 70's ? The Scousers would steam into shops, steal everything not nailed down and then bring it back over here and stick it on the blackmarket ! The poster is a typical Scouse comedian. As funny as Tarbuck & O'Connor . . . .. .
