While we wait for the next england game, (if my nerves will stand up to it ) and for those posters that knew the bill nic era, name a player you think bill nic would have bought for spurs if he had still been around up to 2000.
For those that knew the type of player bill nic often went for you have to use gut instinct, remember mackay, peters and chivers , greaves and gilzean.mullery etc etc.

I can name two = lineker and ginola, "yeah alright " i can hear you say but my point here is that bill nic would have got these 2 ex spurs long before they went to newcastle and everton , giving us more years than we actually got from them during their respective tottenham careers.

    Any takers ?

By the way it doesnt have to be ex spurs players, it could be say cantona who went from leeds to man utd, or shearer ? just to clarify things..........its using your bill nic knowledge to sort of read his mind on the type of players he might of bought from those era,s up until 2000.

I wonder would he have allowed Beckham to get away, what with him being on our books and all.

I certainly don't think he'd have let Sugar make the call on Bergkamp either, especially as Dennis wanted to come to us in the first place, Bill set great store on players WANTING to play for us.

He didnt want to wait his turn burg ! he went back to scotland and then was flogged on the cheap to middlesboro before he went to liverpool.

He was trying to force his hand burg ! he thought he should have been in the first team ! but managers in those days got rid of trouble makers.

Yes he came back to haunt us, bit like bentley with that spectacular goal against you lot. Here,s one for you ! Lol

Beckham,Giggs and Berkamp are all great shouts and the type of player Billy Nick would go for but if he could I think he would have gone for both Ronaldo's. Both quick and prolific goal scorers. He did like fast wingers who could shoot like Cliff Jones and a strong center forward (as we use to call em' in those days) with pace like Ronaldo of Brazil.
