So whilst Bostock’s fantastic goal for Hull yesterday will have Spurs fans excited there is a clear worry that he will never make it at White Hart Lane. The fact Adel Taarabt was sold to QPR earlier this week and Giovani Dos Santos impressed in Tottenham’s win over Fiorentina yesterdat is proof of that.
Bostock did add earlier in the summer that “‘My dream is to play for Spurs. But I’d definitely go out on loan. I need to play.”
On the evidence of yesterday’s performance in Hull’s 2-0 win over Swansea, Bostock would appear to be right and if he can play like this all season, will be banging on the door of Harry Redknapp’s first team squad at Tottenham.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder, who recently impressed at the Under-19 European Championships in France as England reached the semi-finals, made his debut for the Tigers yesterday and scored a goal that will have Hull and Spurs fans salivating.
Hull manager Nigel Pearson said of the Tottenham loanee after the game: “John [Bostock] did very well. He was the difference in many ways. He can produce that moment of brilliance and he worked exceptionally hard.”
