09 Aug 2010 Tottenham To Announce Signing Pletikosa

Although it isn't the signing Spurs fans want, it seems a deal to bring the Spartak Moscow and Crotia goalkeeper, Stipe Pletikosa, to White Hart Lane.

The 'keeper, out of favour at his current club due to rules on foreign nationals in the squad, will join for a season long loan on Tuesday, following the completion of a medical examination, and the deal will have an option to make the move permanent.

This signing will leave Tottenham with four senior goalkeepers on their books in: Heurelho Gomes; Carlo Cudicini; Stipe Pletikosa; and finally and Ben Alnwick and therefore it is looking fairly likely that the latter will be leaving the club after failing to impress in any of his performances for the North London club.

By replacing Alnwick with Pletikosa, Tottenham are strengthening in a vital area and will never be caught short like Manchester City were last year during the Fulop debacle.
