lol sorry guys u have a long wait, i dont need to prove to anyone what my activities are, i know what i have done and where i have done it.ion just wants too ridicule it anyway so im not going down that rourte with someone who second gueeses all the time. it was ion that told me poker players considered poker a game of luck and not skill, that says it all really.

I do find it strange, though, that you were willing to share the knowledge of your escapade, when you returned from your holiday, but are so unwilling to share just that little bit more.

i think vis is getting confused ion, it was clearly you and me that were debating luck against skill, even mentioning the ratios and so on, i argued that poker players see the game as skill, you argued that the luck factor had to be recognised, in which i agreed but not to the extent that u did, so maybe i will give this taxi a miss, but its a good example of when a yid sticks his nose in to none of his business and gets his facts completely wrong, nice try tho vis lol.ionman34 wrote:

I didn't think it was a case of right or wrong. You mentioned Vis sticking his nose in. So, if he had been right, that would have been OK? I may be wrong but I thought a forum was where everyone can discuss a thread. So, what are we going to do now then let posters in to discuss a thread when someone else says its OK? I think not.

lol, we argued about the ratio ion, u said something like 30 % luck where i disagreed and said about 15 % depending on the player, so i agreed there was luck, but disagreed on the amount u said, if u play a lot of poker like u say, u will know this is a debated subject, even my own casino battled it out in the courts for over 3 years to try and get this sorted, now poker has a big variance to it, whether its winning or losing , luck and skill, gambling or not gambling, please dont refer to poker to get your cheap digs in as the the game is that rounded you could get it to suit any arguement, so hold fire on the taxi for now if i was you,

Worzell oh Worzell, yert again you make your-self look foolish. Yes, you and Ion where debating poker BUT IT WAS ME who said about luck and chance. Poker is a card game therefore an element of luck & chance is involved with the cards you are dealt. I'm always the 1st to admit things I have posted before as I stand by my comments. Shame you've changed heads AGAIN and gone off on another tangent. Now what was that about goldfish . . . . . .

If memory serves me correctly, which it usually does as I don't have gills, I told you that the Pro's have stated that it's usually a 25% to 75% split. Daniel Negreanu is one who has said just that. Chris Ferguson is another who has made the comment. Even Johnnie Chan has been quoted as saying 'I'd rather be lucky than good.'
Phil Helmuth, during a WPT final table, stated that if it wasn't for luck he'd win every tournament he played. Right after another Fish had sucked out on him.
I play quite often with Pro's at the Conrad and Jupiters Casino in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. They are all of the same opinion. In the 34 years I've been playing, the only person to ever say that luck only plays such a small part in the game is you.
Skill can help to minimise your losses, as well as maximise your winnings, it won't stop you losing though if you get outdrawn.
Going back to the WSOP event, I watched Patrick Antonius call a reraise with 5 3 suited. The reraiser had pocket Aces. Antonius flopped 2 pair with the high card being an 8.

I suffered a massive bad beat in a game where I flopped Broadway with a Royal flush draw. My opponent flopped the Queen high straight, with 89 of Hearts. I had him all in with 2 cards to come. He hit runner, runner heart to beat me with a flush.

poker players say the luck factor is as hi as 75%, lol ok mate, like i said earlier that says it all mate, the game is about decision making, timing, knowing your opponents, getting reads and tells,chip counts,position etc, all this is skill my friend and gives the best players in the world the edge they needed to be where they are today, read brunsons book(super systems) if u dont believe me, there is a big section on the luck factor, but hey what does he know, hes only been playing 60 years and won millions of dollars in the mean time, pros like him and negreanu usually say 15/20 % luck is the normal ratio they work on, but this is only a figure as there is no real way that u can put a figure on luck. the timing of luck is the important thing, avoiding bad beats at certain times would of changed many a poker players path, 75% i would drop that figure if iwas you, thats ridiculous and would be very insulting to pro players that play it for a living, if the game was 75% luck everbody would be playing it, no. mate i would say that figure was a mistake or u hit the wrong button if i was you, your poker credibility depends on it.
