The Lancashire official took charge of the 2-2 draw with Wigan in October - a match where he showed three yellow cards, two of which went to Andy Carroll and Cheick Tiote - and has been selected for Newcastle duty again this weekend.
In 18 games this term, Halsey has shown 41 yellow cards and just one red - Liverpool midfielder Lucas was sent off in the last minute of their defeat to Stoke last month.
( A bit for Lought)
Halsey was also the man in the middle when Newcastle and Spurs met at White Hart Lane in April 2009. The Magpies will hope for a better result this time around after losing that game 1-0 thanks to a goal from new Aston Villa striker Darren Bent.
