pav 6 goals this season. no goals for defoe in a year.

pav put defoe through 5 times ok 1 was hard to controll but least he has movment and sets players up

defoe just wouldnt pass 2 him even at 0 0 defoe could of pass to pav for a 1 on 1 and tried to shoot

defoe had more chances then pav tonight. its defoe whos had a long run in the team unlike pav .

yeah Pav scores, but not nearly enough. He misses alot more than he scores. Defoe this season has been dogged by injuries and he come back in and you can see Harry is playing him because once he scores he will be up and running again, he is a top top striker on his day

The question that should be asked though is how can we have so many attempts on goal and only have a conversion rate of 3.6%?

3.6% mate! That's God awful in any league. If my 8 year olds team was getting that kind of return I'd have them running shooting drills for their entire training session until they got it right!

This season, EVERY ONE of our strikers has been dire. This game has just put the icing on the cake. Had each of them scored just half of their quota from last season, we'd be out of sight!

You know how I like to back all of our players but this season, for me, has been unforgiveable on the striking front and could cost us dearly.

Pre season I had us down as challenging for the title, no one else agreed because no one else thought the squad strong enough, not because they thought the strikers weren't good enough. As it turns out, I wasn't too far off the mark. Just a handful of goals more, from each of the strikers, would have seen us up in second, or even on top of the pile.

Basically, as you have said, it is not down to Defoe alone, it's not down to Crouch alone and it's not down to Pav alone. They have all been P*ss poor in their finishing.

ion people are sayin pav played bad.

roper dont blame injuries defoe still had 16 this season and about 8 at the end of last season to score.

time for me to bring the stats upto date again me thinks.

im not sayin pav dont miss but hes all round play is better then defoe who shoots at any angles and is always offside
