I see we have finally let Woodgate go .

Shame really such a talented Defender blighted by injury , one moment to savor, was his goal in the carling cup against chelski .

Good luck Woody where ever you go !

Yeah shame lobo, what a pairing of king and woodgate, but wasnt ever meant to be.

But you know he is probably set up financially for the rest of his life.

Such a shame him and Ledders didn't get to make a long term partnership. Good luck Woody.

Redknapp has failed to agree a pay-as-you-play contract with defender Jonathan Woodgate and the injury-plagued 31-year-old has been released by the club.

A real shame but this has been the sum of Woody's career. Too often on the treatment table. A truely gifted defender who never really had chance to show just how good he could have been due to a stop/start career. I wish him well wherever he goes (rumour is it could be back to Leeds) and respect for the service he did give us. Bottom line is this had to be done as no Premier team, with the 25 man squad rule, can afford to carry passengers . . . .

Now thats what is so frustrating really and lowers woodgates esteem in my opinion.

He gets paid for how long ? being out injured, and then doesnt accept a pay as you play deal which seems fair enough to me ? what the fck did he want then another year doing fck all and banking £50,000 per week.

Spoils it for me because him and king in central defence is what dreams are made of.
