    Luka Modric is expected to backtrack on an interview he gave over the weekend in which he intimated he wanted to join Chelsea, by issuing a statement this week in which he will attempt to rebuild the damage done to his relationship with both his club, Tottenham Hotspur, and their chairman, Daniel Levy.

    How can a paper see into the future like this ? they seem to know what someone is going to say or do before the player knows himself .

    Im sure Levy and Modric have been on the fone chatting this weekend?

    Maybe , just as Roman Abramovich has friends at the Mail , Levy has at the Independent...

    We shall soon see ...

    The report says a Modric statment expected this week ....

    I think Modric wouldve had to have said something on his return either way , which could've included handing in a written transfer request... However the reporter is stating that Modric on his return will be seeking to redress the situation....

    This isn't over yet believe me.Regardless what Levy or Harry say Chelsea and the others sniffing around are not going to let this go and I just worry that there will be a big offer come in, say 35 mil and I don't see the club turning it down.

    When Modric comes back for pre season I'm sure he will be straight in to see Levy and make it official.

    It needs Modric himself to make a statement in the press that he is staying otherwise it will go on til' the start of the season or at least just before and then it could overshadow any transfers we are hoping to make.

    The cynic in me is asking is this just a smoke screen not to spend any money, surely not. Then I remember Harry saying a few weeks ago that the chairman has told him he needs to sell if he wants to buy.

    I just want two top strikers and a hard man in midfield who can also score a few goals.So mr L and mr H get cracking please your public awaits.
