This is the one Len you mentioned in your earlier post, is of Ricky and Ossie ...Going by the S reg on the motors I think it mustve been about 1978-79 thats if the motors were brand new ...

I was there that night Arnie when they were introduced to the crowd and the car's were presented to them, they were brand new, back then we had a chairman that did not mind spending money. Mind you a car dealer probably gave them to the club to give to the players in return for a season ticket, you know what car dealers are like.

So what model are the cars do you know? ...I cant make them out but I think they look like Volkswagons ..

Great pictures great memories Arnie. I lived just up the road and remember many of the games and the changes in the ground over the years. It's amazing I sat there staring at them and I was in another time and starting to remember so many things.
You look at the old ground and remember some of the fantastic games and the football you've watched there over the years and realise what a great club it is and how you love it all the good and the bad.

I too was there that night. Great atmosphere and they got a tremendous reception. It was however short lived as we lost a few games at first and stupid people started saying it was because of the two Argentinians. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. That all changed once they got used to English football and showed what they really could do. Ossie was more of a favourite than Ricky as he was much more talented but Ricky's Wembley goal will always be remembered.
