Re: Vucinic
For the last 3 seasons Vucinic has been played out wide on the left so that Totti, who is to Roma what Raul was to Real, could play up top. In those 3 seasons, Vucinic has averaged better than one in three FROM THE WING. He's been played out of position for 3 years and still managed to weigh in with a respectable return.
His last season as an up front CF he exceeded 20 goals and he's a one in two for his country.
More importantly, he's a striker who is able to bring the midfield into the game up front. His first touch is excellent, his movement is excellent, his distribution intelligent and his finishing top notch. Don't be fooled by the You Tube misses shown.
As I said on another thread, he's basically Berbatov with pace. He'll be an excellent acquisition.

Re: Vucinic
Discussions between the two clubs have been underway for the last 48
hours as Spurs manager Harry Redknapp desperately tries to bolster his
strike-force.
Tottenham have turned their attentions to Vucinic as they fear top
target Giuseppe Rossi is close to completing a £26.4 million switch from
Villarreal to Juventus.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy hopes to agree a fee of around £15m for
Vucinic but Roma have so far been demanding £17.5m for the Montenegrin
star.
The 27-year-old, who has also been linked with Blackburn Rovers,
Juventus and Bayern Munich, is believed to be keen on a switch to north
London and has asked to leave Roma after falling out with the fans in
the Italian capital.
Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has publicly claimed that Roma
want to keep Vucinic, but he could be surplus to requirements at the
Stadio Olimpico if they complete proposed moves for River Plate
wonderkid Erik Lamela and Barcelona forward Bojan.
Although Spurs are actively trying to agree a deal for Vucinic, there
remain doubts within White Hart Lane over the former Lecce man's
temperament. The forward, who can also play out wide, scored just 10
league goals last season and was criticised for his attitude and body
language.
“Vucinic is an extremely talented player and a big improvement on what
we've got, so an approach has been made to see if a deal can be done,” a
Tottenham insider told Goal.com.
“He is versatile, skilful, he scores goals and he can play either on his
own up front or with a partner – so he suits our needs.
“Roma want it decided quickly one way or the other so Harry will have to
decide whether he wants to push through with it to the end. There are
questions about his attitude and poor form last season, but Harry knows
how to get the best out of a confidence player.”
Redknapp wants to add at least two strikers to the first-team squad and
will continue to pursue a genuine target man, even if he lands Vucinic.
The club have explored the possibility of signing Emmanuel Adebayor but
sources have told Goal.com a deal is unlikely because of the Togolese
striker's wage demands and Manchester City's reluctance to sell to a
Premier League rival.
Tottenham's strikers badly misfired in front of goal last season and the
club are ready to listen to offers for all four of their current
forwards – Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch, Roman Pavyluchenko and Robbie
Keane.
Keane, the Republic of Ireland captain, is the most likely to leave but
Spurs are yet to receive an official bid for the 31-year-old, who has
been linked with Fulham, Bolton and Blackburn.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have agreed a £2m deal with Siena for Ivory Coast
sensation Souleymane Coulibaly, who has been tagged 'the new Didier
Drogba'.
Spurs are confident of beating Manchester United and Real Madrid to land
the 16-year-old but reports have suggested they face a race against
time to resolve a work-permit issue before the transfer window closes at
the end of August.

Vucinic to Spurs ???
Tottenham’s move for Roma striker Mirko Vucinic has stalled over the £17million asking price.
Spurs are only willing to offer £13million for the Montenegrin forward, and with the Italian giants now prepared to flog Vucinic to one of their Serie A rivals, Harry Redknapp’s bid may be doomed.
Roma have previously been reluctant to discuss a deal for the wantaway 27-year-old with another Italian club, but Roma sports director Walter Sabatini told Corriere dello Sport that they'd be open to sending Vucinic to Juventus in exchange for Claudio Marchisio.
‘Claudio (Marchisio) would be the only one from Juve we'd be willing to take,’ he said.
That leaves Spurs’ bid for the hitman in doubt, as they thought they could land Vucinic on the cheap seeing as he was unhappy in the Italian capital.
Now Redknapp must either get chairman Daniel Levy to up his bid or risk losing out on the former Lecce man.

Re: Vucinic
the Montenegrin is in preliminary talks with Manchester United.
Blackburn and Juventus were also mentioned as once having interest in the striker, no talk at all of Spurs. This also confirmed by Montenegrin press.

Vucinic
Source: Football Talk
Tottenham are closing in on the signing of Roma’s Mirko Vucinic. The Montenegrin is set to secure a move to North London in the coming days after Spurs fought of interest from Man Utd and Italian giants Juventus.
The 27-year old had been linked with a surprise move to Manchester United earlier this week, but a source close to Tottenham has dismissed the claims. His agent said on Tuesday:
"I met Manchester United," Lucci told lasignoraingiallorosso.it. “We spoke about Vucinic, but we didn't reach an agreement. “United like Vucinic but there's still a lot of work to do to see Mirko at Old Trafford.”
However, Tottenham have moved quickly to snap up the forward after the club have grown increasingly concerned over their lack of activity this summer.
Roma was originally holding out for £17.5million for the striker but since the signing of Bojan the Italian outfit are keen to make a quick sale for the forward and will accept £15million. A deal for the striker should be wrapped up soon.
"As far as we're concerned, the Manchester United interest is a red herring,” a Tottenham source told Goal.com. “We've been talking to Roma almost daily for the best part of two weeks and have never heard it mentioned that United may want him.
“Vucinic has indicated he is interested in moving to Spurs, his agent is probably trying to squeeze out the best possible contract for his client.”
"Harry is a little concerned by his goalscoring record and reports about his character, but Vucinic is the main target now,” the source added. “Daniel Levy wants to push it through before he goes on holiday next week.”
It seems to change from day to day on this subject but, normally, the reports are all about us NOT getting our man. This is nice and positive and this is the guy I really want to see leading our line.
Fingers crossed chaps.
