Could This Man Be Our New Ledley?
The New Ledley? Icon_post_target_unreadby coxie » Today, 15:33

Many of us know that Ledley King is always going
to be the king of our hearts but we also know that he is on borrowed
time due to his knee injury. Ledders probably has another season or 2 at
the top before he has to call time on his career which could have been
so much better for him if his luck was in better stead.

There is no doubt in my mind that Ledley would have been the England
captain for the long term if his knee was up to answering his country's
calls but Ledley always put Tottenham before anything else and we will
always admire him for that. There is the question that if his knee was
fine that he may have moved on from Spurs a few years ago.

    The New Ledley? Steven_caulker

There could be someone waiting in the wings to take over from
Ledley. Steven Caulker like Ledley has come through the ranks at Spurs
and after loan spells at lower league clubs in the previous 2 seasons he
finally got the chance of some Premier League experience when he was
loaned to Swansea City for this Premier League campaign.

Caulker has been at the heart of a Swansea team who are tight at the
back, for a team who have just been promoted to be so good defensively
it is a good achievement. At the age of 20 I would argue that it would
be criminal to loan him out again, like Kyle Walker he has now proved he
can play in the Premier League and with all the defensive injuries we
seem to get, it's time for him to stay at Spurs next season and force
    his way into the team.

At the age of 20 Caulker looks like a good prospect, he is big,
strong and very athletic, his reading of the game is decent and don't
forget he will still learn. It would be good for him to play a couple of
seasons with the likes of Ledley who can teach him what they know
    before they retire.

Does Steven Caulker have what it takes to become an icon like
Ledley, nobody will ever replace him but there's room for a new hero at
    the Lane.

I Really Like the look of Caulker. Seen him a few times now, looks solid and confident. Get him back to the Lane.

he's quick, he's solid & technically sound & i've said will be ready for next season. For me he's our very own Rio Ferdinand. Him & Kaboul can take us into the future easily,,,,,,,,,,,,

His contracts about as long as the next best offer that comes along is my best guess.

Lought we talked about this before, Kyle Walker and all the kids that we send out on loan I think is the best way to do it. If they can cut it in the lower leagues and a prem club comes in, give them a season there and if they shine like the above, we dont have to go out and spend fortunes, we dont always ruin kids like you say, sometimes they just aint good enough.
Unfortunatley for Kyle Naughton, i cant see him getting in ahead of Walker and i dont think he will want to be number two to him, which is a shame as his first choice right back at Norwich.

All im saying is we loaned Walker and Caulker to teams in the fizzy pop and they shone, thats why prem teams came in for them, im afraid if the likes of Bostock cant cut it at lower league teams (Hull for one) then they aint good enough.

but gio couldnt cut it. how do you think messie would do playing in that sort of league where its all kick and run. the keeper just wacks the ball up field and miss out the midfeild.

Lought sometimes the only option is to loan players to lower leagues as the Prem clubs do think they are good enough to take on loan. Whatever the style or level played at least they are gaining valuable match experience and as the ant-christ-capaitilist beast that is Tesco's says "Every little bit helps" . . . . . . .

What a load of tosh Gio couldnt cut it when he was at ipswich he was awsome they wanted him back for season long loan roy keane said he could win matches on his own whats messed gio up is 2 thing 1 his lifestyle likes the london clubbing scene a bit too much and 2nd he needs to go on loan to prem club no spanish team or turkish rubbish as for Bostock hes got a attiude too remember when he was on loan at brentford a couple years back he thought he was too good for the club instead of knuckling down

Is this the league you are constantly bigging up for having more quality than we give it credit for?

Cream always rises to the top and Walker and Caulker have shown their class this season and are our future. Other players like Bostock and Gio I believe have had enough chances to prove themselves but just have'nt got that bit of class that's needed to make it to the top.

I hope when Caulker comes back next season we play him because more than once in the last few months he has stated that he wants to come back to Spurs but only if he is guaranteed to play.I just hope the club give him those assurances and he stays.
