You might be interested to see how far Spurs (and every other club) has progressed in the FA Cup from season 1980-81 onwards (there are also links going back to 1871-72)...

FA Cup Progress Chart 1980-81 to 2011-12

f the 80 3rd Round ties we've played since season 1925/26, it looks like we've been drawn at home in 39 and away in 41.

some good games. coventry away used to be a bad place to go. i remember one game was was 2 0 up and it was about 60mins and our player got injuird and our dressing room door was locked so it took ages to make a change so we played with 10 men for a while and they got it back to 2 2 and then got the winner

    this was in the 90s

Ah the '87 final. How bitter did defeat taste? Very. Had a little bet with me dear ole Mum that Spurs would romp it. We lost and the next day on my dinner plate was a pile of Brussels Sprouts. The nasty things make me gag but I had lost the bet and it was time to pay up what had been staked. That final will always remind me of the foul taste & smell of Sprouts!
    Not too sad a draw me thinks . . . . . .

Still burns deep in me that does. They had no right to win that final and but for Mabbutts own goal I don't believe they would have. Then Jimmy Greaves p*ssed me off for saying he hoped his old mate the then Coventry Manager puts one over on us. For that one match alone I hope we smash the Granny out of them. Knowing us though we'll lose. lol!

Jim was p*ssed off that we swapped him for Martin Peters. He never forgave us for that. Truth was Jim was beginning to lose what he once had. he should have accepted it gracefully. Could he have given us a couple more good years? Probably, apart from all that he is still my favourite Spurs player. love him to bits.
