i heard bale is back for this one. i would keep him on the bench. we know how dirty stoke are and wil kick him all over the pitch .
bring him on second half if we need him. save him for the xmas games.

I see a few 1-0's to the Spurs in the next few games crystalball

    Hopefully starting with the Stokies
    Smile

Be interesting to see if Parker features and with no Charlie Adams, Bale could be a starter . I think Townsend showed AVB with his 20 minutes against Swansea that he can be relied upon for giving either Lennon or Bale a breather.

With the squad getting healthier we need to kick on in the next few games...

I've always liked Townsend, he gives 110%, is skillfull and has vision. Hope AVB gives him more chances.

Should hopefully be a comfortable win.

    TEAM NEWS

Tottenham's Gareth Bale and Michael Dawson are fit again after hamstring injuries.

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor will have a fitness test, while midfielder Scott Parker and defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto could feature.

Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam is set to miss the match after being granted compassionate leave.

But Potters defender Ryan Shotton is available for selection again having completed a one-match suspension.
    MATCH PREVIEW

At this time of year thoughts begin to turn, naturally, towards the January transfer window and prospective departures and arrivals. There's already plenty of speculation as to who might be turning up where, and what players are required by the various Premier League clubs as they look to achieve their objectives.
You could argue that Tottenham have already welcomed their best mid-season arrival: Scott Parker made his first appearance of the campaign last weekend when he came on as a late substitute against Swansea.

The England international has been out with an Achilles problem, and although he probably won't start against Stoke this weekend the return of Tottenham's Player of the Season will be a huge boost as Spurs aim for another top-four finish in May.

Away victories have been scarce for Stoke this season, with just one win on their Premier League travels at West Bromwich Albion earlier this month. Stoke took a point home from White Hart Lane and won at the Britannia last season, and this should be an intriguing encounter. Tony Pulis's side are unbeaten in their last seven, while Spurs have won four of their last five in the league.

The most interesting fact about this match is that 19 of the 24 goals scored at White Hart Lane in the Premier League this season have come in the second-half of matches; any Tottenham fan will tell you that they fear the last 10 minutes of games because of their poor defensive record in the latter stages.

Stoke will look to take full advantage of that and I wouldn't be too surprised if, just like in March, they returned to Staffordshire with at least a point.
    MATCH FACTS

    Head-to-head

Tottenham have won four of eight Premier League games between the two sides, with Stoke winning three.
The biggest-ever win for either side at White Hart Lane came when Spurs beat Stoke 6-1 (in Division One) in October 1950.
The two clubs first met in the first round of the FA Cup in 1896, Stoke claiming a 5-0 victory at home.

    Tottenham

Spurs have won four of their last five Premier League matches.
Nineteen of the 24 goals scored at White Hart Lane in the Premier League this season have been scored in the second half.
Against Swansea in their last match, Spurs made 39 interceptions - the most by a Premier League team in a single game since the 2009-10 season.

    Stoke

Stoke are unbeaten in their last 15 Premier League games at the Britannia Stadium (W7, D8), their best such run in the top flight since November 1974 when they went 23 games unbeaten.
The Potters have conceded only three goals at home in the league this season, fewer than any other club in the Premier League or Football League.
However, they have won just one of their nine away games in the Premier League.
Kenwyne Jones could make his 250th career league appearance. His goal against Everton last weekend was his first in 28 Premier League games, a run stretching back to August 2011.

How can anyone watch Stoke season after season. 5 goaless draws, Arsenal played out one of those with them, 4 x 1-1 draws, 3 x 1-0 victories, 15 goals scored against 13. Says it all. Shut up shop for most of the game, hope for a breakaway goal and then go back to defending there goal lead. That is no excuse for our failure to break them down, but God, it would do my head in watching them week in week out, in fact it would drive me potty.
