    OZIL SIGNS
    22:29hrs BST 02/09/2013

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "We are extremely pleased to have signed Mesut Ozil. He is a great player, with proven quality at both club and international level. We have watched and admired him for some time as he has all the attributes I look for in an Arsenal player.

"I have said throughout the summer that we have been working hard to bring in top quality players to this football club. This has involved many many people across the club and I have always had the full support of the club in making decisions on the football side.
    Mesut Ozil

"Mesut is a top quality footballer who will be a fantastic addition to our talented squad. We are all looking forward to him joining up with us after his international matches with Germany and working with us as an Arsenal player."

Do you honestly think their fans want to go back to one nil to the Arsenal, cos for the last 20 minutes they shut up shop against a team of strangers, any organised team that are settled will give there back 4 trouble and Ozil is another that can't tackle, great going forward, but they were good doing that anyway, sorry Lought, smacks of Wenger under pressure to make a big signing and lets face it, Ozil 2 days ago said he wanted to stay at Madrid, once he realised that Madrid needed to recoup some of the Bale outlay and he was on his way, it suited him and Arsenal, but just like Willian, Arsenal didnt really need another attacking midfielder and its just to appease the fans.

    arsenil midfielder Jack Wilshere

"Signing of the summer! Easily! Fantastic player, plays the 'arsenil way'. Welcome Mesut Ozil, absolutely buzzing!"

No young wiltshire the buzzing will be the effects of all the paracetamol you took yesterday because you were "poorly" (lol more like Capoue & Paulinho owned your sorry backside) . . . . . .

That's the problem with the modern footballer, basic maths.

    Assuming they play 4-3-3

Ans the top three are Giroud Walcott and either Podolski or Oxlade Chamerlain when fit

They have three midfield slots, there's no way a 42.5 midfielder won't start, so that leaves 2.

Arteta,Whilshere,Ramsey,Corzola,Rosiky,Abu Dhabi and a couple other fringe players, 2 into at least 6. Um good luck Wenger keeping a happy camp.

Most Arsenal fans I know are questioning why. athough he's a good player do they need him. They would rather they'd signed a goalkeeper (which they did on loan) a left back and a striker. Spurs seem to have so much more depth in teir squad you only had to look at the two benches on Sunday to realise that.

This was before they bought him I could not have said it better, but Wenger was under pressure to make a big signing.

Arsenal have completed the signing of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid for £42.5M, plus bonuses for trophies.

This brings the overall fee to £42.5M
