    Jermain Defoe Empty Jermain Defoe

Post by Guest Wed Aug 25 2010, 09:18

Well now, seems like our God fearing striker has a bit of a niggle. Hopefully keyhole surgery at worst and the International break will be all he needs and maybe a leauge game or so after. . . . . .

Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe will have an operation on a groin injury next week that will keep him out of England's Euro 2012 qualifiers.

The 27-year-old will still be available to play in his club's Champions League tie against Young Boys on Wednesday.

But the injury, which Defoe has suffered since the World Cup, means he could be out for up to a month.

England kick off their European qualification campaign against Bulgaria and Switzerland on 3 and 7 September.

    More to follow.

Lought get that glass filled up from half to FULL ! ! ! If he's fit enough to play tomorrow it's just a minor tear. Probably aggravated over the last few games. We saw him in the summer pull up with it but as a Pro he will push on until it's a real problem. He's wise to get it sorted now rather than leave it .. . . . . . .

can anyone recall the last time defoe scored a goal from open play

The he should be thanked for putting our final run in ahead of his own health, not vilified for it.

I recall Chris Armstrong getting pilloried by the Spurs Boo Boys when he had a big drop in form, it turned out he had been carrying a bad groin injury but played through the pain for o good few months. Once he'd had the op he came back and, when fit, started burying them for fun.

Winning goal in the World Cup wasn't it Lought?

im talken about spurs not england. i dont care about england.

fact is defoe been crap for ages but seems to be one of the untouchables on here. keane gets slated but at least he can pass and score. And i agree chris armstrong was a good player for us and i think he scored more then klinsmann when he was with us.

i just think defoe is overrated and darren bent is a better goalscorer. and dareen bent scores away aganst the top 4. when does defoe score away at arsneal chels man u and so on

What can you say? One of the best 4 strikers in England. Drogba, Torres, Rooney, Defoe.

Burger, not gonna comment on Loughts view of Defoe, theres a pot to stir if your up for it!!

Lought, no player wants to go under the knife and im guessing along with the medical teams, it was thought that it may clear up with the rest after the world cup, still what do they know, eh Lought!!

There you go Burgs, no name calling, just my honest opinion and a little ribbing.

in 2010 hes got 5 goals and 1 was a pen. that is shockin for a center forward. bale has more then him
id love to see darren bents stats compared to defoe
