TalkSport have just said that it looks as though Daniel Levy has pulled off a shocker and signed Dutch International, Rafael van derVaart from Real Madrid.

No other details have been given about the deal. Apparently, David Bentley has also signed for his old boss, Mark Hughes in an £8 million deal to Fulham.

I'd have Snejder as soon as. The guy is a combative, thoughtfull passer and a marshalling force in midfield. That ain't happening (but I'd have him come January) but Van der Vaart ain't no slouch and IMO would be a fair additio to the team should it prove to be true . . . . .

sneider is the better player but this guy looks ok, real madrid dont normaly buy wrong uns, there was uproar in holland when holland kept playing van bomm and de jong instead of him, but i suppose if u married the managers daughter and then the manager just wants to kick fcuk out of the opposition, you dont stand too much chance, regretfully i have to say this guy is coup for u and could add this extra something u may be missing.if the detals aint done by 8 clock i strongly urge all prem laegue clubs to complain.lol

1904: Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is still at Spurs Lodge. He wouldn't normally be, believe me. Tottenham media staff still not answering their phones. Are they photographing Rafael van der Vaart in his new Tottenham shirt? Or begging with the Premier League to ratify the deal? Drama drama drama.

1947: Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says the club are waiting for confirmation that their signing of Rafael van der Vaart, for around £8m, has been ratified by the Premier League.

1942: Now then - Spanish publication Marca, who tend to have their finger firmly on the pulse of all things Real Madrid, are reporting that Tottenham have indeed signed Rafael Van der Vaart. And STILL the Spurs media team are unreachable. Have Harry Redknapp and Daniel Levy really pulled a rabbit out of the hat at the death?

New Tottenham midfielder Sandro on Twitter: "Thank you very much to the fans. I will try to make the best for Tottenham. Go Spurs."

Rachel Tyrrell, Lincoln via text: "I love Harry Redknapp, he is truly the Elvis of Transfer Deadline Day. It ain't over until Harry has left the building."

F'kin cheap, I've been harping on about us getting Van der Vaart since Aol Spurs days. But since then he's played in germany and Spain.
Not sure where he's gonna fit in now Bale has come good. He's left sided but favours the middle, so i suppose he'll be pushing Modric and Bale for the first team.

Looks like you can go back to your Orange Font again, now we have the Dutch Connection again Vis.
