William Gallas has admitted that he has warmed to life at his new team
after initially being apprehensive about moving from Arsenal.
The French defender made the risky switch across North London from
the Emirates to their great rivals at White Hart Lane on a free
transfer in the summer, and has gone on to prove himself at his new
club.Spurs are the third London club Gallas has represented in
his career, following a successful spell at Chelsea and then going on to
captain the Gunners. The 33-year-old conceded that he was unsure
how he would be received by his new team-mates and supporters on his
first days, but is now completely settled and is loving playing at White
Hart Lane.
"I wasn't sure how I would be accepted
but now I want to say 'thank you' to everyone because, from day one, I
have been made to feel very welcome," he told Hotspur Magazine."When I played at White Hart Lane for Chelsea and Arsenal, it had probably the best atmosphere of any away ground I went to."The fans were always crazy before kick-off and I love that passion for their own team."Now
I am experiencing it from the other side and the fans are fantastic for
us. As a player, you want to give something back to the fans who show
you such passionate support and that is what I try to do in every game."We
have the quality here, so now we have to be consistent. We have to
believe in ourselves, believe that we can succeed. There is a lot to be
optimistic about at Tottenham."
